I don't follow many Eurovision artists past Eurovision. Monika Liu is one of the exceptions.
Monika really got me into a song with a chorus literally mimicking the sound of pouring champagne:
bul bul bul bul bul
bul bul bul bul bul
bul bul bul bul bul
bul bul bul bul bul

Her power!

As someone who hasn't completely fallen head over heels for "Luktelk" the first few times I heard it, I wonder - what musical qualities in this song are y'all's favourite?

This is quite punchy with its instrumentation, which I like. In terms of the overall package it leaves me a bit cold. I love me some electronic punchiness, but if you won't go somewhere interesting with it you may see me check out. However, there isn't anything in this song that I hate or dislike. It only leaves me wanting more from it, especially since it kind of just... ends. It's good for its duration but it doesn't leave an everlasting impression that would want me to return to it. It's close, though.

:7: points.

The beat is infectious, and that small "pause" where it turns melancholic in the bridge before the beat picks up again. I also really like Silvester's voice as well.

This. It's the combination of hardness (beats) and softness (voice). Also it's the most current sound of all the entries which are selected so far. I can't find a real comparison in prior editions.

With the performance the magic moment happens at 1:55 when it goes into the instrumental part and they do the choreo with the flashing lights. Goosebumps.

I like this very much! xheart It is a fresh sounding and very slickly performed pop song. I can definitely see :lt: in the top-10 this year. Maybe top-5?

That's actually the only song of Monika that I do not like. Lol. That bul bul chorus ruins it for me.

That probably me never loving it then, the beat is the one thing I dislike about the song.

It's not great, but this could be Lithuania's year for the win. With their diaspora and in a tight multi-country race this could sneak the trophy like Azerjab...Baku did.. We have had worse winners, so why not. When the Chutto Tutto Cheese did so well, then this would do much better.
We can't compare in this way. Chuto Tuto got a better result than Sentimentai. And I would challenge everyone of you to say that Chuto Tuto is a better entry. (For me, it is, but I'm the only Sentimentai hater in this world).
2023 was a week year, a two horses race. 2011 was an open week year. 2024 is an open strong year.

I think 2024 is a genuinely weak year. It peaked in 2021 and since then the decline is steady. At least 2024 is pretty wide open for almost anyone which means diaspora advantage.
I feel the same. I hardly like any of the songs this year. There are max 5 songs that I like. So when people keep going on about this being a strong year, I can't help wondering what they are on about, because.... huh? What are they hearing that I don't?

I don't know about 2024 being a weak year, (some songs are better than others), but there surely are more wtfo_O songs this year. I prefer Silvester to last year's Monika by a mile, though.:coffee:

I would love them to finally breaking into the top 5. The fact that LT United and The Loop are the countries best performing acts is quite depressing.
