Re: LIECHTENSTEIN 2014

Then again Malta is a small nation with zero neighbours and they finished 8th just this year.

Well Malta fits into the balkan bloc a bit, and does well with points from Italy and UK of course. Malta has been in it a number of years and managed to assert itself a position. Also they returned after a break in 1991 when a huge influx of eastern countries began to join. Now the amount debuting as completely stopped. no country has debuted to Eurovision since 2008.

I'll also say that since 2006 and 2012 Malta only qualified for the final 3 times with their best result in that time being 21st. ALSO when they first debuted they came last in both 1971 and 1972, so they withdrew.

Then again they finished 2nd in 2005. I think every country can do well. Some definitely have more difficulties, but I think everybody has a shot.

Any country has a chance to do well But some will do a lot better than others even with a poor song. I don't Lichtenstein getting points from a wide variety of countries though in order to get to the final, just how it was for Andorra, and Monaco when they returned. The only countries i see giving points to Lichtenstein is Austria and Switzerland, who themselves struggle to make it to the final.

This is "Come To Me" by Elis, disbanded band from :li:
If they will ever debut on Eurovision, I want something in this style from small principality, between Switzerland and Austria ;)

Maybe they should make T-shirts that say: Eurovision Liechtenstein - Undefeated Since 1956

Here's a compilation of Liechtensteiner musicians:

small countries like andorra, monaco etc. have no chance, so i'm afraid liechtenstein would suffer the same :(
but i would really like to see them too

Yes it would be good for these small countries to belong in a block...They could had more options to be in the final...x???

Or they could make their own block and vote each other but this wouldn't help very much I think...

They should buy Swedish pop songs instead of forming a voting bloc xup

How likely is a Liechtenstein debut in 2015? It's the 60th edition so I'm hopeful.

Money is the problem, as it seems. Ready to launch a fundraising ?

I'd happily donate at least a little  The EBU should be looking at reducing fees for next year though

They have reduced fees already this year. Don't know how much more they could reduce it.

I'm sure they can take more. It's hardly a non-profit organisation

It's not really a problem for the country, more for the public broadcaster. They don't receive enough money from the governement to become member of the EBU.

If Moldova, being the poorest country in Europe, can afford to take part, so should Liechtenstein...

It has nothing to do with the wealth of the country itself tho, more like the wealth of the national broadcaster and their willingness to participate.
