They can't, they haven't been able to enter the EBU yet. That's why they don't do it at the end.

They have to pay some fees in orer to enter, like all the broadcasters, but the government isn't giving 1FLTV enough money yet.

Since Austria and Switzerland don't reach the final in most cases, Liechtenstein might give much points to Germany so I would like to see them

But seriously, I like this small country and I'm curios about their music. Hope they would perform in German, because German is so underrepresented in ESC

I guess Qatar would be allowed prior Liechtenstein, regardless that Qatar has no connection to Europe while Liechtenstein is in the heart of it

Liechtenstein is not a poor country at all... But the TV channel is almost nothing.
At least SMRTV broadcasts documentaries and cultural programs.
Liechtensteinese 1FLTV only broadcasts meteo, news, music videos...

Well, Liechtenstein is rich because it's a low/tax-free bank haven, not because it is "actually" rich in the same sense as those oil rich countries are.

We ha Liechtenstein in FSC too but the music was pretty horrible

Kf they did debut I can see them not qualifying at all

It depends. San Marino came in 11th place this year, Andorra 12th in 2007 in a semi of 28, and I think Liechtenstein is a bit more recognizable for the standard european than San Marino, so who knows.

Sorry but i have to agree with Charlyje. Small countries that don't really fit in any block and recently debut aren't particularly going to do well. The only countries i could picture ever giving them points are Switzerland, Austria and maybe Germany.

IMO if the song is likeable enough, any country, even micro-nations, can qualify.

Sorry but i have to agree with Charlyje. Small countries that don't really fit in any block and recently debut aren't particularly going to do well. The only countries i could picture ever giving them points are Switzerland, Austria and maybe Germany.

Then again Malta is a small nation with zero neighbours and they finished 8th just this year.
