Latvia LATVIA 2020 - Samanta Tīna - Still Breathing

You know, I've never been a fan of Samanta's songs, but this one is the exception and I'm glad I can precisely get behind her when she actually goes to Eurovision.
I try to imagine what's going through her mind after so many tries and disappointments. I'm sure she'll give her all in Rotterdam and that will be priceless for sure. She's gonna live this experience to the max.
Like I said earlier, the only criticism I have is the camera work that looks way too static at times when it shouldn't be. If they can fine-tune that and make Samanta pop a bit more (was the red outfit the best idea?), it would be great. The song demands a striking visual production a la Montenegro 2016 imo.
Congrats to Katrina and ANNNA making it to the podium. Thank the Lord "Heart Beats" didn't win though, it was pleasant enough but it was time for a change sonically-speaking.
I literally have no idea how "Still Breathing" will fare, it could totally bomb in the semi or actually fare decently in the final if televoters are in the mood, for I don't think juries will rank that song high. But at least Latvia won't go unnoticed this time around, it'll go hard. One has to have an unashamedly in-your-face song like that once in a while.
I'm giving her 10 points for now. Simply because I think she can do even better than what she did. Go gurl! Go Latvija!

It will bomb right back home unless they absolutely give it their very best performance. The deck is fully stacked against them with a song like this because there is no way in the world it is ever going to look like a class act or a clever piece of music. This is pure mindless bombast and as such you're relying on the televote for all your points.

I can't believe that for once I really got into a song and it actually won the national final! I didn't know she had unsuccessful attempts to participate before but I'm tempted to look them up now!
It's a mess but I love every second of it, and I don't even feel sorry. It's fun and will definitely stand out. Will it qualify ? Heck I don't even care, at least I'll have a great time watching it in Rotterdam, which is more than I can ask for after last year where Latvia ended up second-to-last in my ranking only because Denmark was too sickening to be higher.

Only five songs in and I've already been given two NF tops, one of which is a dearly beloved fave of mine who I've been rooting for now since forever. I was behind Samanta Tina back in 2012 when she gave us her first beautiful attempt, For Father, and have enjoyed all her tries since then. It just feels amazing to finally see her fulfil her dreams. It's a lesson in never giving up.
Still Breathing was very much the ticket our girl needed. It's the right kind of crazy for Samanta. She can be sexy, eccentric and show off those epic vocals with her often mocked accent only adding to the charm here. It's a tonne of fun and I was shook watching how hard she went on this in the final. I think she has no f**ks left to give at this point and it was just so inspiring watching her unleash all that power and energy she's packing. I loved it so much. I've had the song stuck in my head since the very first time I heard it, and now I get to experience Still Breathing performed by one of my favourite national final icons at the contest I love so dearly. I'm so ecstatic.
It goes without saying, have my 12 points Latvia

"Still Breathing" was a grower, my first impressions were not the best but I started to like it quickly.
The best way to describe everything is using 1st juror's words - amazing performer but messy song.
It's likeable but it's a bit messy and outdated but Idc since I like it.
Hope Latvia qualifies but I don't have good feeling, this will depend a lot on televote because juries will kill this. I'm a bit more pessimistic - I'm between 7 and 8 - I'm giving
but I feel it can easily flop on me. Go Samanta

Might lolwut its way into the final, but it's hopeless once there. Maximum result is 20th or so I'd reckon, maybe a tad bit higher if it's going to have a successful staging gimmick.

This song will stand out, I am just not sure if for better or for worse. After Conan Osiris has been slayed last year, I don't see this song can go much further, because Telemoveis was also experimental and much better. Let's see.
