Tumblr, mostly.
Given that Supernova was absolutely DEMONIC this year, It's only fitting a nice, inoffensive coutnry song won it all. I like it though, even if it's probably dead in that semifinal. 7 points.

This so on the “Meh” side for me.. :(
It is quite boring..I don’t like that English at all in this song..
This can be again the last place for Latvia in semi final.. :(
It even gets annoying with repeating the same words towards the end, many times..

4 in the poll..

I just listened to Croatia's entry and I think I prefer it. I can at least put myself in eurotrash mode for that and be somewhat entertained I guess. The choices tonight I feel have been incredibly misguided. I've got patience and enjoy slower, understated stuff but everything picked has been bland, and the one NF favourite I actually thought I'd get this year (Fatal Error from Hungary) got their back stabbed by the jury this evening, who gave them the most points previously. Deliver me Serhat already. I'm through with following NFs and always being disappointed.

That A dal jury is the biggest looser jury in history..they don't know what they are doing, changing minds all the time.. :?

So it's the second "Calm After the Storm"-like entry selected on the same night :p :(

These songs are not similar to each other like at all. Ok, That Night slightly is by the virtue of country-like music encapsulated I guess. ;) :? Unless anything that is not ''in your face'' and is moody can be that for you.

Yeah, off-topic to discuss here I know, but in what was a very bad night for me, watching Fatal Error only just scrape through to the final in Hungary was the definite low, and the biggest sign for me that this years ESC is probably going to be a very poor one for my tastes. What a disastrous night.

Lina DTF in Sweden was the nights only light for mexheart

That's a very charming song. Well done, Latvia. One of the greatest entries so far.

I am speechless at the moment. I wonder if my taste is so strange or if the Juries are misguided … but so far all my No. 1s have been killed, mostly by Juries. And I see the other ones being killed as well. Hungary, Iceland - and with my luck Conan as well. What is happening?

I'm used to my favourites being killed, but I at least usually get some backup favourites taking wins here and there. This year for me has been so bad, and I'm worried it won't get any better. The big ultimate NF favourites I've gotten from the past two or three years have actually gone on to win Eurovision (Salvador and Jamala), so you'd think I'd have a few more bones thrown my way, entries even inspired perhaps by the success of those songs, but no. Maybe some internal surprises will happen but this years NF season has been a total dud for me that I doubt can be saved with any of the remaining few selections left.

Maybe your country can deliver me something, but you'll have to avoid the route you went last year (which basically ended up as my bottom alongside France).

It is for me the same way. Of course you can't expect your loves to qualify all and I had EVERY year at least one or two songs, I really cared for. But this year seems for me the worst so far. I mean the halfway only song I like is from Joninda and the rest … one or two are "okay", and the final rest is rather unbearable, unless they will grow a little on me. The past days I have actually been listening to the songs that made it to Tel Aviv so far to at least let some songs grow on me, but you can't force it. :? I really want to have ONE song I can burn for in Tel Aviv. xcry Let's keep our fingers crossed that we both (and others here who feels the same way) will find a song we love.

P.S. Hope that Germany will have a great song on Friday. I am already getting edgy.

Songs tend to improve in people's minds in the context of all 42 anyway so I wouldn't be all doom and gloom just yet!

Anyway Carousel COULD be a shock qualifier which is probably the best Latvia could hope for after a nightmare of a Supernova. There's nothing wrong with it at all but it doesn't have the same appeal to me as Sebi does so I think they need to do a little extra.

That's my hope as well.

If Latvia didn't dislike their language so much they could of competed for the win with Latvian version I think.

Seriously, who in Europe would vote for a song in Latvian ? And I remember 2004 quite well - Dziesma par laimi failed miserably in semi-final. Lesson learned.

Songs in other languages are extremely overrated by fans but usually when a country send an entry in their own langueage the result in Eurovision is not that good! Last year top 10 songs were 8/10 in english and the 2/10 in italian! At the same year several songs in other languages failed to qualify so maybe Latvia is doing well for sending a song in english!

I listened to the song a few times and i started thinking that is actually a nice song! Upgraded to 4 points for now!

So you believe it's because of the language and not the song/performance themselves?

PS I give this song a :7:, pleasant but not that spectacular, worse than :sl: but better than :hr: & :ee:.
