Absolutely no surprise here. The song is so fun and cute, but also very poor musically and, despite it's quite easy to sing, the vocals were the worst of the night. It's impossible to qualify with this, from the spot #02, even if you create a great atmosphere like they did.
Latvian people, next year choose something with chances instead something to laugh with like this song, "Here we go" or "Beautiful song", with less ridiculous lyrics, and you will get some results

I feel sorry (and miffed) about this not qualifying. It seemed I was one of a small group who liked this song from the get go and I was realistic about its chances, so I really didn't have high hopes and expected non-qualification. But after the performance tonight I was 200% sure that it would qualify. When you look at the energy that they gave on the stage, it was clearly much better than some other entries. It was just really GOOD. A few hours ago this song was on the 5th place in Eurovision tracker! (now 6th) http://esctracker.com . Although I also liked Iceland, another one in my top, I would've much prefered to see in the final instead of . So yeah, I'm pretty miffed about this.

I feel exactly the same as you Mozz. I wanted this through so much. I really like Pollaponk but when it came down to that nail biting moment, I was crossing everything for Aarzemnieki as I just love them. For me though, Iceland were always a certainty for the final which is why it didn't surprise me when they took the last slot.
I'm so sad for these guys. I bet they did fantastically with the public vote but as Tinchey pointed out, they probably came dead last with the jury. It's put a small dampener on my evening but it's one I half expected to happen.
Imagine if there wasn't for this awful ranking system, maybe then they would've qualified. ;______; If this is another Igranka, I will be so pissed. :S

I really think that this will turn out to be the case unfortunately.. but I also think if they did qualify it would have been at Valentina's expense. I'm very sad for them and really dislike the current ranking system in place.. but I daren't touch it this year as it's this kinda screwed up ranking system that probably finally allowed Valentina to have her moment.

Every rumour is saying that Latvia are done at ESC for the foreseeable future after this result. Not exactly surprising considering their poor record.

They can't be done until they've sent Samanta Tinaxhand Internally select her next year with a solid song and watch as Latvia sail through to the final.

Well, Valentina could do with some more sacrificial lambs next year to make that journey to the final for her fourth entry just that little bit easier.. so by all means, please do send Rui next year when Latvia sends Samanta. Perhaps you could point Rui in the direction of Suzy's song writers? Also, make sure that he asks for something similar to "Quero Ser Tua"
By the way, he was epic tonight. Star of the show. My Mother actually laughed aloud when she saw him for that brief moment opening the fans. He really made the most of it

It was hilarious for me because I knew who he was but it was hilarious for my mother just because of how awkward the whole thing looked
