Ouch! I think I would like this entry a lot more if it wasn't in English and I was unable to tell just how frankly dreadful the lyrics are. The eastern european folksy aspect to the tune isn't too bad and I can still hum the chorus but it needs to be in Latvian for it not to be actually painful to listen to.

Completely agree. The melody actually isn't that bad, but at the same time it's totally lame, cheap, repetitive, amateurish and just stupid.

If the lyrics, the performance & the music weren't enough, the girl can hardly sing.

Funny songs are sometimes doing well. Look at 2006 when Lithuania's 'We are the winners' became number 6.

I agree. The line about "the year the Irish Johnny Logan wooonnne" just makes me cringe! Her voice is a bit ridiculous as well. And her eyes - is she taking something, or has she just drunk too much Red Bull?

I gotta disagree with the majority here. I love the song. It's so emotional and kind of a song that makes you smile and I think that's a good thing in ESC
I think it has great chances to qualify. I only fear she has a bit weak vocals live and that could ruin it all... :?
Anyway, 12 deserved points for Latvia, despite it's been probably my least ESC country, but getting much better last years
