I'm not sure if I can take such pain again after the loss of :fi: and :ee: last year. xcry

But well, I predict that the crown of Kate Ryan will go to her beloved country again: :be:

When the song was announced, everyone had mixed feelings about it (including me)
Then it grew on many people.
Maybe it won't be enough for casual viewers.
Hope I don't jinx it, but it's just a bold prediction. :p

I don't like it! I find annoying and as you said childish! I also think that Rybak is overrated.

Is it possible that he will follow in Dana International footsteps? (with NQ return years after victory)

But I think he'll sail through into the Final. I loathe his entry though.

If I were to choose one country popular in ESC bubble to flop it would be Finland.

I expect him to qualify! Even if people don't like the song that much!
Now about Finland nearly everyone epect them to fail :( I don't get why!

:fi: Borderline qualifier at best, if it qualifies it will struggle to get to the top 20.

There are better uptempo songs this year? It's not very high in odds or regularly high in top lists of any sort? And there's a good chance at exaggerated Hot Mess staging. I'd say that their draw neither helps too much and neither detracts. But if they go OTT it can easily come across as tacky after solemn Greece.

I'd not mind Finland qualifying though. Actually it's around ~15th place in my current, overall ranking and all that despite not being "in my genre'' so.

I really hope that Finland will qualify! I also expect the staging to be far different that the one on their national final because that one was really bad!

Finland (not enough votes at all), Greece (only televotes for them) and Austria (only jury votes for them)

I would like it to be :ee:, but for me it's crystal clear it's going to be :be:. I see them struggling to qualify and then placing quite low in the final.

I'm afraid it's gonna be :fi: :(

You know the so-called curse about :fi: and :cy: right? Whenever Cyprus qualifies, Finland doesn't (and vice versa). Both countries have never qualifed at the same time!

Fuego is a no brainer qualifier, so you might actually be right!

Unless you don't believe in curses ofc

But :fi: is far from being a fanbase favourite like Kate was, neither a fav in the bookies. A NQ for Finland wouldn't be shocking, it's actually expected.

How will a NQ for Finland be received there? As they basically cancelled UMK for Saara Aalto.

In Finland there are no expectations at all. Nobody really cares about UMK, but of course initially there will be some shade on YLE in social media but that's it. If having a well-known/mainstream artist representing Finland was difficult before, a flop of Saara Aalto will make it impossible.

Pity. I've followed Saara through X Factor UK and was excited to see her going through week after week. Definitely a deserving artist for the final, too bad Monsters might not do the trick.
