Even if I had never used the word in any discussions, but I take it pretty lightly even if anyone should be careful when using the more ''taboo'' words. I think everything comes down to the context. It's not okey to shout out SLUT to individuals and any kinds of people in an insuling manner. But the discussion is not about Eleni being a slut or any female looking pretty to the eye of the beholder being associated being a slut. Slutpop is not even a subgenre like you said, I think slut as a term here is more about the target demographic (horny teenage boys/young adults).
It's pretty much about what kind of a gimmick the entry used to attract televotes and not about what Eleni as a person.
Yes, no one should not be discriminated for what we are or what we want to be. We all are humanbeings. Everyone should respect that, but we should not be offended by the word itself. Only if the word is used for insluting. The context here is just about if the entry which is performed by professionals representing Cyprus would win the televote (and juryvotes?) with sexual appeal as a marketing move.

Just thinking of it now, I think the top 3 televote was Czechia, Cyprus and Israel (not in that order), but the jury winner has to be Estonia.
But then again, juries shafted Estonia last year for no reason (?!)

I'm not sure I understand the connection. The only use of the word would be in porn where it actually has some kind of an imaginary loaded meaning. All use of it outside that context would be utterly cringey. Which on the other hand is exactly the purpose of the original meaning of political correctness, an attitude of polite etiquette, elegance and insight.

Have to agree that the term "slutpop" (is this even a commonly used term?) would definitely be disproportionately used to refer to female performances. Even if a male-performed song had the same quality of lyrics, involved similar dance choreography, and had the same attractiveness of the performer with similar style of clothing, we most definitely would be using different words. This song is catchy as heck, and you can't deny it's an enjoyable song.

Opera is normally not that popular with the juries, so I don't think it was Estonia. Cyprus is possible but I have doubts about that one as well due to the genre and staging being more of a televote magnet. Many people think it was Austria and I wish that were true but I'm not optimistic enough to think that my country actually came first in this hard semi final. So I voted for Bulgaria because that seems jury friendly but I'm really not sure. Looking forward to analyzing all the results on Sunday. What a wonderful weekend pastime...

There were also entries with male singers in the 2000s that could be described as slutpop. I just don't have a proper word for it. 2004 would an example...
