Btw does anyone know where Matt is? He hasn't posted any videos since May. Have been waiting for his Jesc song reviews.

Based on the conversation there looks like he has been ill.. maybe that's why he hasn't posted videos.

Okay, glad that we got some new songs that at least improve the quality as a whole a bit. I am so tired of sugary sweet songs, it is like "J'Imagine" had almost made everything just too sweet for my taste, but three songs at least to take a step outside of this box. First of all, North Macedonia have actually a pretty good melody in their song and the message is pretty important of course. The only thing I fear is of course the staging, that the Macedonians haven't really been that promising at all in neither contests.

2ndly, what a beautiful song from Portugal, by far the best they sent to the junior contest. This has meaning and emotion...but is it children friendly? Not at all, so I expect a pretty bad placement in the end.

And finally, Italy. Well the song is a pretty old-fashioned rock song with nothing new to it. But it makes me happy to see a girl that isn't happy, running among flowers or the beach and just stand there and sing her song straight up and down and it is really pleasant. Not sure if it will go all the way to win, but overall, not bad.

I want to give Georgia for bringing one of the most charismatic artists in the contest. I am sure he will grab votes, but sadly, the song just go on and on and on without any meaning to it.

In the swimming pool, always stayin' cool
It will be official tomorrow, but if rumours are true, the hosts for JESC would be Olivier Minne and Elodie Gossuin.

Not sure about Gossuin, but Minne's quite a good choice. He's professional, likeable, good-looking, and fluent in english, since he's living in LA half of the year.

Also it's good to have people that had been in touch with ESC at least once, Minne made french comments a few times during the 90's, and for Gossuin, no need to say more...

Olivier was the French commentator for ESC between 1995 and 1997. Prior to that, he was the French vote spokesperson for the 1992 and 1993 contests

I'm sorry but this lineup is dreadful so far. I used to enjoy JESC so much, especially 2012 and 2019 were great years.
But everyone seems so effortless and lazy this year. Last year was also awful, but at least I enjoyed the top 3 that we had. Now I even have difficulty picking 3 songs I can comfortably support.
Armenia and Azerbaijan better bring something hot to the table and spark up my interest in this contest.
