TONIGHT: JUNIOR EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2014

TONIGHT: JUNIOR EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2014 http://www.escunited.com/home/tonight-junior-eurovision-song-contest-2014/

The day has finally arrived!
After months of speculation as to whether there would be enough participating countries, we have 16 countries which exceeds the previous 2 years by 4 countries. The contest will be broadcast live from Marsa, Malta. The participating countries are:

  1. Belarus
  2. Bulgaria
  3. San Marino
  4. Croatia
  5. Cyprus
  6. Georgia
  7. Sweden
  8. Ukraine
  9. Slovenia
  10. Montenegro
  11. Italy
  12. Armenia
  13. Russia
  14. Serbia
  15. Malta
  16. The Netherlands
The contest this year promises to bring new ideas, integrate the Maltese people, High Quality, and a showcase of Maltese abilities to host an event on such a scale. Last night saw the Jury Final, which means that 50% of the results have already been decided. Tonight the public will be allowed to cast their votes and give their opinions on the 16 participants. As well as non-participating countries will cast their votes for a special award which will be given to the winner of that vote in the winners press conference.

Watch the 2014 Junior Eurovision Song Contest live HERE at 19:00 CET. Live for the first time *from the sunny Island of Malta.

:mt: will probably be the flop I´m afraid, a girl with a great voice but the song is to weak.

I don't think Slovenia will come anywhere close to winning. Juries might like it but I think they will prefer other ballads more and I could see Slovenia doing poorly in the televote,

The one I think will do better than expected is Ukraine. I think they have really good staging and their song stands out.

I might watch the show tonight. Having not heard any of the songs I don't know what to expect but I'd like Bulgaria and Croatia to do well whatever. It might help their decision on bug Eurovision in the next few years

Scoreboard during the rehearsals.

I cannot possibly be the only one to notice how Malta seem to be copying Denmark? Big massive empty building on the docks as the venue, #Slogan, Scoreboard design now...

Interesting to note that the dress rehearsal fictional result ended in a three way tie for first place, it would be amazing if that happened in a real contest again!

I imagine we will see a much greater spread in how many points people get than what is seen here. Slightly similar to how the results of the semi finals in ESC with 16 countries in.

I would like it a lot if there was a tie for first place, and it would be kind of fair for it to be close too considering the great quality of entries this year. I think the top 6 or 7 will score much higher than the rest of the songs though.

My ranking before the show:

1 - Bulgaria
2 - Cyprus
3 - Slovenia
4 - Belarus
5 - Malta

6 - Georgia
7 - Sweden
8 - San Marino
9 - Ukraine
10 - Armenia
11 - The Netherlands
12 - Russia

13 - Serbia
14 - Croatia
15 - Italy
16 - Montenegro

Why Russia doesn't broadcast it on any main channel :? I have to watch it in internet then.
My favourites are :by: :sm: :rs: :cy: :sl: :ge: and :am:. Would be awesome if one of them wins!

Here is my top 16 before the show, I will repost my top 16 after the show to see if anything has changed.

1-Cyprus
2-The Netherlands
3-Bulgaria
4-Sweden
5-Belarus
6-Serbia
7-Malta
8-Russia
9-Slovenia
10-Montenegro
11-Armenia
12-Ukraine
13-San Marino
14-Italy
15-Georgia
16-Croatia

I expect Bulgaria to be right up there, or even win. I hope coming 2nd in the order doesn't damage their chances. I also expect Croatia, San Marino & possibly Montenegro to crash and burn.
