I think Serbia could withdraw as well. RTS didn't show any interest for it this year, and at this point last year, they opened the deadline for the song submission.

We'll see.

Svante arrived to Minsk today.

This is what he said:

"I can say for sure that JESC will not repeat EDC's fate. I don't want to name the exact amount of participants, let's wait a little. We will announce everything".

Lena and Alexander Rybak were invited as special guests.

Australia and New Zealand will broadcast JESC 2010.

Ukrainian NF is set on August 1.

It will be hosted by kiddies' resort ARTEK (in Crimea) just like last year.
Preparations will be more professional and intense though. They will study with vocal trainers, choreographers and visagists.

Moldova is intending to debut at JESC this year. No specific information are available yet but they are in talks with the EBU as apparently they're already past the deadline to submit an entry.

11 countries confirmed participation to date:

Armenia
Belarus
Belgium
Georgia
FYR Macedonia
Malta Netherlands
Romania
Russia
Serbia
Ukraine

Possible returns/debuts:

Azerbaijan
Lithuania
Moldova

Confirmed withdrawing:

Cyprus
Sweden

Too bad that so many great countries withdrew in the past years. Spain always was in top 5 and I still don't know the reason they withdrew. Such a shame.

Yep, Serbia confirmed participation today.

It's not known if we will chose internally or there will be an NF yet.

But to me personally, the first option is more likely.

Yeah, but it wouldn't be very accepted in the Serbia...
Even though it's a best way.
I just hope that we'll send a great song, just as when we sent Nevena... And we didn't won... :x

Azerbaijan will not debut this year in the JESC as per Adil Karimli, the head of the delegation.

Sweden changed their mind? I thought they were withdrawing.

Anyway, nice :) I hope we will (once again) end in top 10
