He still has some chances but last evening showed us he has very labile televote support, linked too much to his song and message, nowhere near to the one that Giorgia, Fedez and especially Olly will have regardless from what they do on stage.
Cristicchi will likely not have the Radio jury vote for him, and the Press seems like it's choosing Giorgia.
And do you think Giorgia is saying yes to Eurovision?

Sanremofestivalen. They have already chosen Giorgia for the ESC. They are hitting Cristicchi and made Giorgia win with a performance that was not up to par, if not terrible. Towards the end she even said to Annalisa "Shall I go?" to be able to give the final throat blow. Meh... Many deserved it, but not Giorgia. Tonight the award is undeserved.

I respect your opinion, but Giorgia and Annalisa were incredible. Both world class, stunning delivery. They picked the perfect song as well. The crowd cheered when Annalisa opened up,she has come of age,a superstar talent in her own right. Giorgia fully deserves to win this years festival, her song is fantastic, her delivery, the way she carries herself. There are some great artists on show, but Giorgia stands out.Her song and performance for me are what Sanremo is all about, top Italian class. La cura per me ,is the best seat in the best restaurant in town, its divine.Podium for sure, and i hope for the win.

Bravo Giorgia, like a true lioness!!!
Against all males, she won cover night with Annalisa! 🔥 Annalisa finally won smh on San Remo.. 🤓
And on spotify, 3rd now, against all young rappers!! RESPECT! Grande Giorgia! xbow
If jury support her tomorrow and stand behind her, she can win this! I hope she accepts Basel in that case!

So happy for Lucio Corsi feat. Topo Gigio on 2nd place! And Olly with our Bregović 4th...Serbian and Bulgarian national costumes i Ariston!! So proud! 🥹
Im going to drink a full bottle of disaronno tonight so by the time of the podium i will be a crying wreck watching her ,im not sure i can take it,but i will have to try,it will be hard, but the jury should unite around her and her televote will be solid.

It's between Giorgia and Olly.
Simone has lost its momentum.
I would love to have Giorgia in ESC and wouldn't be mad about Olly too.
With Giorgia top 5 guaranteed
With Olly I don't know. As I've said Ollys genuine sex appeal and his passionate way of singing aren't to be underestimated. The guy has something visceral and authentic that may pays.

My top before the finale:

29 - Marcella Bella - Pelle Diamante - Someone has to come last, and I have no doubt to point out my last place. This particular song annoys me the most, Just because of the meaning. It's a feminist anthem but it's way weaker of every other feminist anthem in the last 5 years and we had many, so many. So, please, stop.

28 - Serena Brancale - Anema e Core - Usually I like this kind of songs, this time I can't say the same. Maybe it's a little too much for my taste.

27 - Shablo, Gue, Joshua & Tormento - La mia parola - Old style rap that left me totally indifferent. I expected more to be honest.

26 - Sarah Toscano - Amarcord - This Is not a bad song, it's really really catchy imo. The problem is her voice, not fully matured and maybe not ready for that stage. Give this to Annalisa or the recent Emma and they win Sanremo by a landslide.

25 - Tony Effe - Damme na mano - Old style roman ballad which fails to deliver because... Tony Effe is Tony Effe. You can't make a "bad guy" sing a song like this and expect him to be convincing. The vocals are shaky to say the least, too. It simply doesn't work.

24 - Rkomi - Il ritmo delle cose - Overcriticized? Maybe. But it's obvious Insuperabile was waaaaaay better than this song. The chorus is not that bad, but the song still feels flat and empty. I don't mind his voice, even if sometimes his cursive can bother someone.

23 - Bresh - La Tana del Granchio - Again, not a bad song. But I expected better. Lyrically is a big mess, It seems they put together lines that don't really have a meaning to form rhymes. Meh...

22 - Irama - Lentamente - I know, I know: seeing Irama so low can shock some of you. Let me say one thing: I really like Irama, he is potentially one of the best vocalists of his generation, his songs always left me something and I followed closely his career since the superb "Cosa Resterá" (Sanremo Giovani 2016). And I must say this song doesn't give me anything. It's the worst song Irama ever submitted to Sanremo. Don't know what happened. Still better than some others, but absolutely not top 10 material.

21 - Massimo Ranieri - Tra le mani un cuore - He is Massimo Ranieri. You expect a classical power ballad and he delievers. Nothing more to say.

20 - Clara - Febbre - Not a bad song, again. But waaaay too similar to her last year entry, which was better. Even so, I like her: she can be big one day. But should vary her style more.

19 - Modá - Non ti dimentico - I must say, I didn't love Modá particularly because I find their music style very boring and dated, but this time their song is not bad at all. I can listen to It 'til the end, and that's something new. So I can totally place them in my top 20, well deserved.

18 - Rocco Hunt - Mille vote ancora - Another artist I didn't like particularly, mainly because of his style, that happens to be in my top 20 because actually his song works: good lyrics and a good use of the dialect in the prechoruses and chorus. And yes, if anyone is asking, Mille vote ancora >>>> I p' me, tu p' te, at least imo.

17 - Willie Peyote - Grazie ma no grazie - Typical Willie style, makes you in a good mood, very groovy. The song is not that bad, but his previous entry was slightly better.

16 - Eurofans prepare yourselves....- No, really, you are not ready.... Really.... Are you ready... Ok.

....

I was saying, 16 - Elodie - Dimenticarsi alle sette - I'm hearing your boos at my ranking from here, but that's It. The most uninspired Elodie song ever and she seems bored to be there when she sings. As I said talking about Irama, I don't know what happened, but her song really comes and goes without leaving a trace in the mix. She Is not in contention for the win and this Is the year she risks to be outside the top 10 too.

15 - Gaia - Chiamo io, chiami tu - Some parts are really annoying, but the vibe is definitely there. The performance with the coreography Is not bad. She has still some work to do on her intonation, but overall not a bad entry. I'm positively surprised this time.

14 - Francesco Gabbani - Viva la vita - Lyrics are very very simple, expecially in the chorus. The problem is that Gabbani sings everything like he means It, and so the song works. I really like him, he Is really a good performer, this is not his best song, but is far away from being the worst.

13 - Coma_Cose - Cuoricini - Yeeeah, I know, It seems a stupid song.... But it's not because it talks about how social interations and technology are ruining human relations. They always seem to find a way to leave a trace and I have no doubt this song will be everywhere on the radio in the next months. Mission accomplished.

12 - Rose Villain - Fuorilegge - Yep, it works better than Click Boom. Definitely. The genres are mixed in a more common way and she actually delivers a good performance. It works, It works. And it's for sure another of those songs Italians will start to hate because It Will be everywhere on the radios.

11 - The Kolors - Tu con chi fai l'amore - Just shy of my top 10, here they are. As usual The Kolors are doing what The Kolors do better. Of course they will do well on the televote. Of course they Will be on the left side of the rankings. But they are not really in contention for the victory.

10 - Brunori_Sas - L'albero delle noci - Really good song. But really, really good. I must say I love all my top 10, and it's unusual even for Sanremo. L'albero delle noci is very sweet, is written very well, and Brunori reminds me a little De Gregori in this one, with a little touch of Battiato. I really, really like It.

9 - Francesca Michielin - Fango in paradiso - My biggest grower! Really sweet and well made ballad and she delivers an egregious vocal performance: her voice really has developed to a more mature tone and I'm actually impressed of how much she improved from her first appearances. I will love to see her in the top 10, because she deserves actually to be there imo.

8 - Achille Lauro - Incoscienti Giovani - I think it's time someone in Italy apologizes to Achille. A lot of people though he was just a clown, without any artistic valute. Well, they were totally wrong. He really Is a well rounded artist and every time he is on the stage, even big stages like Sanremo, It feels like he's in his natural environment. He Is simply born to be and artist.

7 - Noemi - Se t'innamori muori - Some criticize her saying her songs all sound the same. Maybe. But they sound all so damn good that I'm not complaining. Her voice is a blessing, everytime she sings she makes me feel vulnerable or alleviates my pain. Incredible. The song, a really good song, exposes her as one of the best female vocalist of our times in Italy. Hope she will win Sanremo one day.

6 - Joan Thiele - Eco - The biggest surprise of this year's Sanremo, even more than Lucio. I really didn't know anything about her before the Festival, but damn... How did I miss her? This is one of the best songs this year and I think it will have actually some appeal in Eurovision too. It sounds so contemporary, so fresh, has that International sound behind. And She sings it soooo, well. Really, really surprised.

5 - Simone Cristicchi - Quando Sarai piccola - Oh, yeah: they can criticize him. Simone, leave them all say what they want. This Is one hell of the song, period. I found myself crying while listening to this and It usually doesn't happen. Great job and I wish a long and happy life to you and your mother, together. If he wins it Will definitely be a deserved winner.

4 - Olly - Balorda Nostalgia - He can be the next big thing in Italy, or maybe he already is. Tonight can definitely be his night: his ballad Is really strong and he has delivered great performances of it so far. He seems ready to the next step.

3 - Lucio Corsi - Volevo essere un duro - Actually I have this song in loop with the other two in my top three in the last few days. Absolutely fantastic song, almost dreamy. He is a heck of and artist, seems to come from another World but it's at the same time the most normal person I've ever seen on that stage. He seems out of place in Sanremo, but I'm really happy he is in Sanremo.

2 - Fedez - Battito - And talking about outsiders, what about Fedez? I would never have imagined to put him this high. Never. Usually I don't like his music, I really don't stand him as a public person. But this song is the song of his life, literally and professionally. It's fantastic, really! The lyrics are a punch in the face, the rhythm behind and the drop deliver so well the message, he Is really convincing live, despite his vocals not being always the best. But this song is so good, that actually I don't mind. I can see him as a surprise winner.

1 - Giorgia - La cura per me - And I'm happy. The last time I really liked a Giorgia's song was a long, long, way too long time ago: from an artist with her voice, I expect something strong everytime, something big everytime, and the last few songs she released left me with a meh feeling, including her last Sanremo entry. But this song and her performances totally erased those memories. The song and her vocal performances are worthy of the trophy.

This is going to sound strange from someone whose current top 4 includes 3 songs performed in part from trusses above the stage and Zjerm--itself not light on theatricality and stagecraft--but what I love about Giorgia is the complete *lack* of theatricality or visible tryhardiness. She just shows up, all 5'3" of her, in a (gorg but) plain outfit, no additional stage props/production, and delivers a PERFECT vocal on a decent song. She shows up and hoops. Never do I get the sense that she needs this. She's here mainly to show us that she can show up and put everyone else to shame.*

The song itself is a little floaty and austere in the way that I find a lot of Sanremo ballads to be, but frankly, I wouldn't have it any other way. This is just a fun showcase of how Giorgia can deliver.

*For this reason I am a little worried she declines the ticket to ESC if she wins

I admit that this year's Sanremo is quite weaker than the previous years for me personally, but still there is a huge gap between Sanremo and Melfest! For me, Sanremo is music made by heart whereas the songs of Melfest sound like plasticpop. There is nothing to compare imo.
Nevertheless Georgia is not my fave here in this edition, but it would be still a decent choice for ESC, it is just not my cup, but can see why people like it.

Dear @mauve try to give a couple of listenings to Olly's live performance.
I know you love rock and somehow the guy and the song have those rock nuances you adore.

Odds before final:

Giorgia 26%
Olly 20%
Fedez 12%
Cristicchi 11%
Achille 9%
Lucio Corsi 8%

The others are way behind. This Is One of the most unpredictable Sanremos in the last few years, with 4 contestants over 10% chance of winning and other two missing out that threshold by a narrow margin.

Let's give Giorgia as the favorite, Cristicchi as the outsider voted by the general public and Olly voted by the young people. There is already uncertainty like this. However, many do not take into account several dark horses. Also competing to raise the scepter are: Lucio Corsi (who will probably be strongly supported by the press room), Fedez (he has a huge fandom) and Achille Lauro (good fandom + over the top character who has entered the hearts of everyone, even the older ones). These three could also enjoy the chaos generated by the many contenders. Brunori Sas, who would have easily won Sanremo perhaps by showing up in the "empty ESC years" of Italy is out of the game. He will reach a sure Top 10. Gabbani will enter the Top 10 because he is loved by the public and also thanks to his ability to sing a nursery rhyme with so much feeling that it seems like a poem. Irama will probably end up in the Top 10 carving out the usual role of "successful loser". Then... I don't know... I have the feeling that Coma_Cose will enter and complete the Top 10.

For me it wasn't a weak edition. All 29 songs worked and were liked. That group of 2-3 songs that every year appear at European festivals and you already know that they will be the ones to reap the spoils was missing. This has generated frustration in all of us music lovers. Thinking about it, however, it is presenting itself as the most exciting edition precisely because anyone could go on stage in Basel.

Let's take as an example as if each of my random Top 10 had won. Ready? Now let's imagine them at the ESC:

* Brunori Sas would be massacred. It's a pleasant song but in a European contest it would enter the niche of "snooze-songs".

* Gabbani would already do better thanks to his charisma and his being a former ESC participant but he would oscillate between 16th and 18th position.

* Irama knows how to be emotional in his songs but he is too anchored to autotune (which in my opinion he uses masterfully). He would follow the same positions as Gabbani.

* Coma_Cose would be appreciated and would entertain the audience but in the end they would enter the "guilty pleasure" category and could also risk bottom 5.

* Achille Lauro is a great performer and is an old acquaintance of ESC but I have the impression that the European public would be too confused suddenly to see him in a more serious role. His singing is not exactly exceptional even if he manages to convey emotions. He could perhaps, if the stars align well, do better than Irama and Gabbani but the Top 10 is a mirage.

* Lucio Corsi has great talent. He knows how to get noticed and is an excellent singer and multi-instrumentalist. His slightly Glam Rock style would make him translatable for the European public. However, I think that the European public would be fierce with him. They would unfairly crash him into the bottom 5.

* Fedez... I'll tell you, he could do well. Yes, he loves autotune but he has a great rap flow and knows how to "talk" to the public. The song is modern. It has a great sound and would bring a style like Rap to the ESC that has almost always been absent. His vampire black eyes would complete the picture. I could also say... if the stars align Top 10. Mostly low.

* Olly is a charismatic guy but... would he be able to manage the ESC? He also couldn't enjoy his fandom. The song is beautiful and he knows how to be emotional but I see him mostly following in Michielin's footsteps.

* Cristicchi is an enigma. He could fail in the televoting or win the ESC with record points. He sings a song that carries a universal feeling and he knows how to convey it. Maybe the public won't understand but they will see in him the emotions of a suffering son. It would enter the hearts of many who have suffered from health problems in the family. I don't see the jury not giving it a Top 3 so as not to appear insensitive.

* Giorgia is the perfect song for the ESC. It is a safe choice for the Top 10 and could also aspire to the Top 5. She would be able to capture, as La Vie en Rose expressed, thanks to her simplicity and as RainyWoods wrote thanks to her vocal power. However, she might not win and maybe be like Il Volo or Chanel or Gjon's Tears or Barbara Pravi. The public would be furious but in the end they will have to accept it.

These are my thoughts. Shareable or not.

Giorgia, Fedez and Olly are the most Eurovision friendly acta between the once in contention. I agree with you. Cristicchi will be the riskiest of the risks, but will never happen imo, even if he wins: I don't think he Will accept if he wins.

this is not a very randomized order, is it? Do we know who makes it and based on what criteria? Some acts seem to be heavily favoured here

Sanremo order is always randomized. In Italy running orders don't have that much of an influence on the vote... That's because usually Sanremo ends at around 3 o'clock and the first singer usually sings after the midnight news. 🤣🤣🤣
