Ho sognato di volare con te
Su una bici di diamanti
Mi hai detto: "Sei cambiato, non vedo
Più la luce nei tuoi occhi"

La tua paura cos'è?
Un mare dove non tocchi mai
Anche se il sesso non è
La via di fuga dal fondo

Dai, non scappare da qui
Non lasciarmi così
Nudo con i brividi
A volte non so esprimermi

E mi vengono i brividi, brividi, brividi

E tu, sei come un pugile all'angolo

Nudo con i brividi
A volte non so esprimermi

E mi vengono i brividi, brividi, brividi

Dimmi che non ho ragione
E vivo dentro una prigione
E provo a restarti vicino

Nudo con i brividi
A volte non so esprimermi

E mi vengono i brividi, brividi, brividi

And the pre-show had not been any better: the orchestra was very vocal against France Gall's song because it was "too fast" and the composer, Serge Gainsbourg, was outraged and threatened to withdraw. Kathy Kirby thought she had it in the bag, she must have been fuming after coming 2nd. Still, she had no right to go in France Gall's room and slap her. What a self-entitled b....! Besides, the winning song became a success.

This is a kind of ''war'' we would love to have each year. Imagine Barbara Pravi fighting with Victoria of Maneskin or Duncan Lawrence with John Lughvik during the proclamation of the last televote points 🤣🤣🤣

The war after the show, when Kathy Kirby (the pre-show favourite for the win) slapped France Gall because she won. True story.
WHAT? Its the first time I heard this but I love it! And yeah, it was one of the most deserving and iconic winners in the history of the contest so things were right.
Also the other time Italy hosted, there was some sassyness between the winner and the runner-up when in the infamous tie Carola was declared the winner. Anyone else having heard the story, that Amina called her a witch afterwards? They were seated just next to each other in the green room yet no sign of interaction between the two until last minute. I wonder if it was just Aminas disgust for Carolas song (which is completely understandable) or if she was annoyed by...Carola being herself? Which might be very unsuffarable to get through I believe.

Yes, unfortunately that's what happened. France Gall told those days were a nightmare: she had been booed during rehearsals, her boyfriend dumped her during Eurovision (he was a jealous musician who couldn't handle her being more famous, they mended their relationship but it ended just a few years later), and the slap from that moron:
“The British candidate was very disappointed because she should have won, according to her and everybody… And finally, it was me. Me, who didn’t care at all. I recall a slap: Did she enter my dressing-room only to insult me? I don’t know. Anyway, the memory that I have of it is a slap.”
The French singer's story goes on: Gall parted ways with her Eurovision-winning songwriter, Gainsbourg, years later when she realized he made her sing a song full of sexual undertones, Les Sucettes (The Lollipops), completed with a music video where she sang among dancers disguised as phallic-shaped lollipops and girls sucking long lollipops. Very explicit content for those days, Gainsbourg even laughed about this practical joke on her. Poor naive France Gall, she did not realize anything and after doing so she briefly left the public life.

As for Amina and Carola I didn't know! Thanks for sharing their story. (y)

I should have probably written all this in ESC1965 though. Who knows if we are in for another slap, perhaps from Mahmood to Blanco for his hyperactive behaviour, he already looked quite tired of that during Sanremo week.

Mahmood's voice has started to annoy me. It's a good composition, but I don't really want to listen to it anymore. I'm downgrading it to 10 points for now.

I hope the 3 minutes cut doesn’t ruin the magic of the song. Does anyone know what will be cut?

Mmmh, from what I know Amina said in an interview that at this time she felt racism because Carola turned away when Amina came to congratulate her but years after they meet and were friendly.

Eurovision 2022, Mahmood and Blanco are reissuing "Brividi" to comply with the regulation.

The winning song of the Sanremo Festival will be shortened by 29 seconds according to the rules of the European contest to be held in Turin in May.

I have commented on many songs but not the Italian one. I find it hard to be impartial when our singers sing. So I won't. However, Mahmood and Blanco can do a good performance at Eurovision and they can honor Italy's role as host country. I wish them luck because, if it is true that 2021 was a Eurovision year with several strong songs, 2022 is a year with a higher average level. It will be a very tough contest.

You're right. It's impossible to be impartial. But we can say that some aspects are undeniable. The overall quality of the song is very high. Their live performance is very good. It's the most contemporary urban ballad with a intriguing interaction, they are a duo, the only one until now, but not a couple.
I think this song stands by its own. There isn't one similar to Brividi which is a good thing.
