Ho sognato di volare con te
Su una bici di diamanti
Mi hai detto: "Sei cambiato, non vedo
Più la luce nei tuoi occhi"

La tua paura cos'è?
Un mare dove non tocchi mai
Anche se il sesso non è
La via di fuga dal fondo

Dai, non scappare da qui
Non lasciarmi così
Nudo con i brividi
A volte non so esprimermi

E mi vengono i brividi, brividi, brividi

E tu, sei come un pugile all'angolo

Nudo con i brividi
A volte non so esprimermi

E mi vengono i brividi, brividi, brividi

Dimmi che non ho ragione
E vivo dentro una prigione
E provo a restarti vicino

Nudo con i brividi
A volte non so esprimermi

E mi vengono i brividi, brividi, brividi

We also did good with "Oro", hosting in Belgrade in 2008..but couldn't win obviously.. :)
"Oro" was stunning as well. I prefer it to "Molitva", tbh.

(Qele, Qele should have won.. or Hold On, Be Strong.. or Oro indeed... "Believe" is such a turd of a song).

I really like this entry but let´s not forget that "Taken By A Stranger" :de: and "When The Music Dies" happened!
I would rather forget "Taken By a Sranger". I voted for "When The Music Dies"
But this thread is about Italy 2022 and I'm happy that the host country will finally do great (y)

:10: for now because I´m still not used to the "high notes" in the chorus and I´m not 100% sold by the live performance BUT this is a very good, mesmerising entry with a lot of potential and a surefire Top 10, imo.
I need to listen to it again tomorrow - my head can´t process everything right now after watching the first heat of Melodifestivalen, Israel´s X-Factor final and Sanremo simultanously whilst still facing symptoms of Covid-19 and pain due to my broken toe (I also had to take some medication prior this evening)... yeah, being an avid and passionate Eurovision hardcore fan isn´t easy :D

:10: pts for this very emotional and brilliant entry but I need to listen to it again - probably I´ll have to upgrade it.

Tumblr, mostly.
Hooray a new last place!

:4: points in the poll (because Brividi is immensely boring), can't WAIT to start loathing it forreal once everyone starts pretending its good due to the loud as fuck Italians here AND everywhere else!

Italy will not be in my Top 10 this year, that's for sure. Unless they send Elisa instead of Mahmood and cut out around 30 seconds in the first part of the song.

According to eurovision.tv, not yet.

Before competing, all contestants are required to tell broadcaster Rai whether they would be willing to represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest should they triumph. Not every act says ‘sì’, so the winner of Sanremo won’t necessarily join us in May.

We’ll confirm participation as soon as we can.

If the duo do take up the invitation, this will be Mahmood’s second Eurovision appearance having already represented Italy with his song Soldi in 2019, finishing second in Tel Aviv.

A wild ass borderline-conspiration theory: Mahmood had looked very sad to me during the few seconds preceding winner announcement when talking to Elisa - could it be that was because he had pre-refused to go to ESC and was sad for Blanco? (me looking too much into things or just him being kinda sad for Elisa / them not winning are of course a lot more likely...).

Anyway, I hope the guys accept.

As I said, the song is quality, but I don't think it's among my favourite Italian entries in Eurovision. Still, I am giving this 7 points as the final result is more than decent. We can see how good they are doing in the charts already and how good they will do, so I expect this to do really well in both the juries and the televoting. Italy winning again is likely to happen, but it's too early to talk about that. However, I doubt it will be in my top 10 this year.

Well, it's not a Maneskin, nor a Diodato, nor a Soldi. (Yeah, Italy was my favorite 3 years in a row 😁)

But it's still head and shoulders above everything we've got so far and I have to give it a :12: (or change the scores I gave to other entries to ones and twos xD)

Let's see what else we got this year to (maybe) reavaluate it.

Italy. Best country in Eurovision. Period.

Didn´t Mahmood look like that during the whole performance of "Soldi" as well? - I really think it´s just his face....

or he was just tired after staying awake for a whole week until 2 am? :D

Guys... Mahmood enjoyed his participation in Tel Aviv...
How could he refuse to represent his country at home?!

Nope. I think he was actually sad for Elisa, because he knows she probably would have love to represent Italy this year. It's just a suggestion, but I'm actually thinking this is why he was happy, but he looked also kinda sad.

Before the start of the final he said he doesn't want to talk about it in order do not jinx it.

Four mehs/10 this weekend for me. Brividi is an average ballad with its enjoyable parts and I'm putting it 6th so far because the melody is definitely more engaging than North Macedonia, for example. Their voices and their presence is the best thing here for me.

Maneskin ended up growing a lot on me and I get why they won, but if this ends up winning/making it to the top 5 in May, then Italy can be in the Top 10 with literally anything.
