My top 5 in a random order.

Raphael Gualazzi - Cariaco
Gli Eugenio in Via di Gioia - Tsunami
Fadi - Due Noi
Elodie - Andromeda
Riki - Lo sappiamo entrambi

Each is great in their own way. While we have so many unique acts, I don't want Achille Lauro to take all the credit for himself for this edition and end up winning it. But the views are scaring.

Opening Sanremo 2020:

RECORD best share result since 2005 ( and it’s only the first evening!) : The TV ratings and Auditel data of the first evening of the Sanremo 2020 Festival see Amadeus, Fiorello and their adventure companions Rula Jebreal and Diletta Leotta conquering 52.2% of share, beating the previous edition conducted by Claudio Baglioni. In detail, the debut of the seventieth edition of the Festival attracted 10,058,000 spectators, with 12,480,000 individuals listening and 51.24% in the first part and 5.698.000 and 56.22% in the second.

I was too tired to follow thze whole show yesterday night. Now I listened to the rest of the songs and I have clear favorites. My top 5 are:

1. Anastasio
2. Rita Pavone
3. Irene Grandi
4. Diodato
5. Achille Lauro

Anastasio is probably the best rocking song of this ESC-season for me so far. Wow. Reminded me of Rage against the Machine. I can't understand that the wonderful Rita ended up 10th.
Le Vibrazioni first??? It's the worst for me actually! Well, it was an experience as always. Can't wait for tonight even when I can't see the whole show again.

My faves:

Raphael Gualazzi "Carioca"
Elodie "Andromeda"
Anastasio "Rosso di rabbia"

Raphael Gualazzi on a piano is one of the most wonderful things ever! I wonder who i'll like more - Raphael or Francesco? :unsure:Two of my favorite eurovision italians.!
Elodie is like the next Emma Marrone. I love Andromeda, as well as her song from a few years ago written by Emma.
Anastasio is very interesting and i can see why he's the betting favorite.

Honorable mention to Rita Pavone. Her voice is amazing, but at times, i can't hear hear properly. Loredana impressed me more last year. Still, she's my 4th place at the moment.

I have high expectations for Italy as they were my #1 the past two years. Still, I'm a little disappointed by this first night, especially Elodie, her song is okay, but I wasn't convinced by the live performance. I dunno, she has voice power but I think it lacks something to really lift the song up.

1. Anastasio
2. Rita Pavone
3. Irene Grandi

Great minds think alike xheat
Anastasio is my clear favorite right now, the only one I keep coming back to. For now it's not enought to get a 12 for me but it has potential to grow like Soldi did last year.

Same here! I was very disappointed by Elodi. She was my 10th actually. :( Anastasio gives you so much energy and is full of life. Wonderful! xdance2xheart

I don't get the fuss about "Andromeda", tbh. It's middle down the road for me. Neither innovative nor progressive (like many Eurofans suggest).
The first night was a solid way to kick off Sanremo but I hope that we haven't heard the winner or Eurovision entry yet.

andromeda is absolutely stellar (get it?! i am a joker send me to georgia) and also absolutely gay and this to me counts as mahmood's outing for he is the composer. without hearing the day 2 songs, i wish elodie would win.

as for the favourites, diodato is boring but also the kind of thing people always say win sanremo and then doesn't really (it was just 2013 calm down you guys), le vibrazioni was not as boring but still middle of the road and also THE SIGN LANGUAGE ARE YOU A SCRUMP BALTIC ENTRY???, and i actually liked anastasio's entry quite a lot but i have been informed he is into that thing starting with fash that isn't fashion and i want to know how bad it is so i can bring my cancellation stamp. no bad politics near this sanremo victory. we already survived ultimo last year.

also it goes without saying but i loved rita and irene. OLD WOMAN ROCK WIG. also this might be another year where the best song is actually in giovanni and then i will grumble all year long that rai doesn't consider them for eurovision just like in 2016 (even if God Had Bigger Plans for my dear gabbani). tsunami by eugenio in via di giola is better than your fave.
