I also don't think is going to win.
I hope for a good result, top 10 maybe.
Absolutely glad with a top5.
I wasn't expecting him to take the lead immediately, meantime Latvia France and C Republic went half way.
I think, lately, only Portugal 2017 made a long jump from middle way positions to the high top

Portugal 2017 was top5 with the bookies for most of the time. It started climbing till number 1 after the semi. So, no that big of a jump :)

I like the song (but to be fair, it's mostly because of language, I'm in love with italian) but I don't think it will end in top 5. First place... no fucking way, it's not that good.

Top 10, yes. Mostly because of jury because italians are always serving quality, they will love it.

Ugh, I wanted Elodie, she was perfect for ESC. 😥

(yes yes, I know they're choosing Sanremo winner, not strictly the someone who will represent them on esc)

Apparently somethings seem perfect for ESC but maybe they aren't. I also thought Nina Zilli was perfect for ESC, fantastic singer, contemporary sound, beautiful girl, perfect elegant staging but she's got only a 9th place.
Elodie s song didn't get top 5 with none of the juries 🙄🙄🙄
I also love her song

I think Elodie's song was really perfect for esc and I though that they can even compete for first place. In worst case, top 3.

True, you never know what will happen but in any case, her song is waaaaay better than Diodato's. *IMO*

But on the other hand, Diodato was perfect and well deserved winner... for Sanremo. 😀

I think some people are too negative about the chances of this. Juries will bring points like crazy. It might not be generally as impactful as Soldi, but those people who get hit by Fai Rumore get hit really hard. Plus, within the timespan of a few hours on the Ahoy stage, it shall stand out even more once you don't compare it with Italian songs only.
I'd say the probability for a top 10 is about 80%, top 5 - 40%. Winning is a bit more tricky, I'll give you that.

We were basically leading from Sanremo's end since Friday's morning. We basically threw it in the bin, but I do think that a 2018-2019 combination would've been impossible with 2017 experience.

For me, statistics don't determine which nation will definitely win. Statistics should be read differently. If we go to observe the statistics of 2017 Italy, "Occidentali's Karma" it was obvious that it would enter the "Top 10". Indeed, Italy was fourth in preference to the public! Then the jury votes threw us behind Belgium and Sweden. Do you want to know who gave us 12 points? Our Albanian and Maltese friends (typical ... sometimes it happens that the alliance extends with Spanish and French friends and ... some crumb left from Finland). They are statistics studied. Now you can read the statistics and draw conclusions. Also this year Italy, unless masterpieces are presented to the ESC, will enter "Top 10". In another post I wrote a strange thing ... if Italy wins this year and Lithuania come in second? Wins must always be contested, right? If Italy wins, I will go to Rotterdam in a bathrobe and slippers to wave the flag and singing "Andiamo a comandare" at the top of my voice (I inserted the video in the post).

Thanks for your affection, Mauve xrose I hope Germany will bring a great song to the ESCxviolinxmetal
xkiss Thank you, but I lost my hope ... and it is okay, as I have three or four faves already (Italy, Belgium, very probably Georgia, Albania) to root for, so I am not sad, even though you always want your own country to send a good entry.

Lately I liked the Michael Schulte song. Perhaps to improve and motivate the singers, Germany should create a festival. Competition is very good. However, among the "Big 5" you are the last to conquer the ESC ;)

Schulte's song is quite close to my heart now as my dad died 10 days ago. That's why I can feel so much with him.
I am very sorry for your father ... I understand your suffering. In recent years I have also lost some of my relatives. I dedicate Schulte's song to you and everyone who has lost a loved one. And then ... you smile again. Life is so beautiful and full of surprises that crying and being sad is the worst damage we can do to ourselves.

Thank you so much. And you are absolutely right about life having to offer so many beautiful shades. Unfortunately death is always apart of it too. While writing this I listen to Walk alone. Beautiful song and like a catharsis. xheart

I translate what is written on the article:
«Fai rumore», the song by Diodato winner of the 70th Sanremo's Festival, is certified gold after having positioned himself, for the second consecutive week, in first place in the Top of the music (GfK) singles chart.

An unprecedented success that of Diodato (who is also a candidate for the David di Donatello). The triumph of "Fai rumore" represents a real plebiscite, able to conquer public and critical unanimity, with over 12 million views of the video on Youtube, over 9 million plays on Spotify, at the top of the iTunes ranking and at the top of the Earone charts (# 3 Airplay radio and # 1 TV / Radio independent).
