I really like to see Federica Abbate deliver live and take the newcomers prize of making the Sanremo bigs.One of the finest contemporary song writers Italy has produced and about time she was better known as an artist.She has taken a risk with a slow burner of a song,but its one aimed direct at the uplifting aspects of a live orchestra.The piano intro and bridges leading into drums and strings are right out of the Ariston playbook.In the hands of Malika Ayane a song like this would be challenging the jury win.
The newcomers like Federica are lifting the bar high here and saying to the Campioni we are coming for you so you better have something fantastic.Its going to be a brutal newcomers show for those coveted places in the bigs.
The Sanremo of the decade coming up next year?.Maybe.

Very good list isnt it.Its like we are getting two Sanremo's a year now.Italy and Albania just before xmas suits me just fine.To win each of the two semis and get the Ariston ticket is going to take a fantastic song and performance.

A LOT of potential winners of upcomingsenior Sanremo editions for the next decade. I want Federica Abbate to come back with a different song. The same is for Giacomo Voli, Diego Conti, Ros, Valentina Tioli and Andrea Vigentini.
There are a lot of good songs indeed. Good for Sanremo but many of them will flop on ESC, imo. I really liked 3 songs, and even out of those 3 I'd selected only Maryam.

Federica could be a future SR winner yes as could several others.Her song is actually very good in an Italian context as its about coming out the shadows etc and being herself.A nod to performing songs herself she want to perform rather than designed to storm the charts for other artists as writer.Like you say she has a very bright future ahead of her.
I always look at SR outside of ESC and only really consider it once we know the winner and song.

Yes, and it would be against the rules competing with a song that it's not considered "new", so the two winners of "Sanremo Giovani" will participate with another entry in February.

These are the 24 finalists of "Sanremo Giovani", two of them will join 22 well established artists in the final line-up for Sanremo 2019. On 20th and 21st of December we'll know the winners.

There may be two disqualifications from Giovani!
Einar is being investigated for originality because not only are the song title (Centomila volte) and writer the same (Ivan Bentivoglio), but the song had been released by Bentivoglio's band Vanima in 2016 and performed the song at Area Sanremo 2017. The song has since been deleted from their Vevo.
Also, Laura Ciriaco is being invested for plagiarisim due to her entry being similar to a song by Jason Mraz.
In the case of Laura, Rai is waiting to see the expert evaluation results.
Einar's is more complicated because of the fact that the video was deleted from Vanima's Vevo, there's nothing to compare it with.

UPDATE:
After review, experts determined that Jason Mraz' The Beginning shares key similarities with L'inizo and Laura Ciriaco has been excluded.
Federico Angelucci will take her place with his song, L’uomo che verrà.
Nothing, however, has been said about Einar's situation.

Annalisa and Fiorella Mannoia will be on the jury for the competition "Sanremo Giovani" this Thursday and Friday. For obvious reasons the Red Queens will not be in competition at the 2019 Festival di Sanremo.
