Here in Italy seems that suddenly people discovered Eurovision (why not saturday night??? :twisted. Conchita is everywhere (the most successful Eurovision song ever on our iTunes chart) on tv and newspapers and apart from Emma's fans everybody is critic towards her performance. :? It's full of hateful and bad comments about her, called "a shame for Italy" and so on. This nation is so exaggerated!!!

I bet "Rise like a Phoenix" is not more successful than "L'esenzziale"..

Dont worry Italy.Im sure next year it will be Annalisa Scarrone and youl be back in the top 4.She might be back at Sanremo next year as well.I hope so.

I loved Italy's song in the days running up to the final, but for the performance lacked something. Also, Emma was sadly out-of-tune at the start, although she got it back towards the middle, and then started to lose it towards the end.

I love this song, and I will always do, despite what position it take. Emma is great singer, with great personality (at least it seems to me), and this was one of the best Italian entries.

One of the few cool songs and it flopped . Funny how the juries were supportive of Italy's previous entries that were more dated and in English, but flopped this one... I guess it's pretty telling . The first Italian entry I really liked since 1997 (first Italian entry I have in my top. 10 since then), and of course it had to flop

Last year's song wasn't in English. :?

Besides, I think this one was their weakest effort so far, and the result was justified. I did love her styling though.

Some italian bloggers and online press judged her shorts, her 21° position (when they never care about Eurovision until 2014 ), her english and that's it
She sung in the final like she was at one of her gigs, maybe that was a false step in this contest.

Emma was great. I'm glad she did not put too much effort on the vocals, her performance felt organic and alive. She could have just stand behind the microphone stand and deliver better vocals, but that would have been terrible for the overall performance.
