Re: ISRAEL 2016

Good selection. I think any of those might be fine in ESC.

Although I like the second version of Made of stars. It's kinda more authentic.

This is definitely my favorite, but it won't win unfortunately:

Re: ISRAEL 2016

Difficult choice:
I like the chorus of Follow the sun, but the way to the it is somewhat boring, if not annoying. But the chorus is REALLY good.
Made of Stars by Hovi has more power and the underlying beat is fantastic and full of suspense. Unfortunately, they build up a road to a climax that never happens. It seems as if the arrangement was made by different people in different parts... (somehow as in Agnetes song this year)
Made of Stars by by Nofar is more genuine and I just love the oriental touch that she puts into it. But it has got less tension....
The only one that didn't impress me was "Somewhere out there". After the first line of the chorus I could exactly preview the second and third part of it.... Maybe I heard this already in another song, maybe it's just a boring "all day sequence", I don't know. And the whole song is built around those four or five notes.

1. Ella (Reminds me of Dance Our Tears Away with John De Sohn and Kristin Amparo)
2. Nofar
3. Gil
4. Hovi

Re: ISRAEL 2016

Just gonna copy what I said from .net

Ella's song is so disappointing for her, doesn't match the style she showed throughout the show at all. it's quite good though the production is so 2011.

Gil's singing a weird mix of a Sia rip-off (alive) with Barbra's "Woman in love" suddenly coming in to the chorus.

Hovi started great only for his song to turn into a kitsch-mess, ew.

Nofar would bring us a Moran Mazor result at best from that studio, her accent shows a lot and it's much less than I expected from Doron (as he definitely wrote that song for a Mizrahi-style production like this).

No idea who to support, SO disappointed at Ella losing her unique touch with this song.

Re: ISRAEL 2016

I seem to be the only one who has Hovi as their favorite

My ranking is

1.Hovi
2.Gil
3.Nofar
4.Ella

But I'm fine as long it's not Ella's song.

Re: ISRAEL 2016

Clearly, "Made of stars" is the strongest one. I like both versions. One is a little bit "Rise like a phoenix", more powerful; the other one is more like "Rak bishvilo", not as powerful but more authentic.

"Somebody out there" gives me "Same heart" vibes, but I think this song is worse. Not really impressed.

"Follow the sun" is the weakest one, quite messy.

IMO "Made of stars" is the obvious choice, but I'm afraid voters will divide between both version and in the end on of the two others will win. Who had the silly idea of having 3 songs for 4 acts? :?

Re: ISRAEL 2016

Sadly, I don't see any of Israel's hopefuls in my Top 10 this year :( None of Israeli songs has wowed me. In fact, I miss Hebrew language - at least it would make those songs more noteworthy.
