YES I'm using the video of the semi because it's the only one available to me we need to discuss what I call "The Blanche Enigma": how. did. this. qualify? The performance is atrocious, her voice is shaky and she looked as if she was going to cry at any moment. YET, it scored top 3 in the televote in the semi. A mystery. On the other hand, thank you televoters, because the song is FANTASTIC. Dark yet modern (and even atmospheric imo). Just... please Belgium it's time to send artists with life in their eyes (I love you Laura Tesoro even though Sax hasn't made into my top 50). I mean, this is Blanche at her happiest moment.

This entry would be even higher if her performance was better. Anyway.

There is not any contest as lively as this man. No. Nope. None. Don't even try to counter argument because you know it's true. I'll go even further: this is the CATCHIEST song to be ever sent on Eurovision. No wonder his stage name is Matador, as he KILLED competition. Also bless the fact that this is one of the top 3 most watched videos on the eurovision channel

blanche's semifinal performance is ART and i love that most of europe understood it better than this board ever did. i like it better than the final one lol. regardless, it's her delivery that elevated the song to me and probably to so many people because it got her 4th place. i've never been so glad and so smug to be right. i don't think i will ever shut up about it.

Margaret only loses to Rybak the prequel when it comes to Norwegian entries. This SNAPS. the synth......... the 10 seconds dance................ synthpop at its best. By the way, why isn't it more common in ESC? A mystery. Also, how can people say this is the worst year this decade having works of art like this one? Another mystery.

UGH I don't even know what to say. Basically, the main reason I started watching Eurovision was because of Conchita. I heard about her outside the bubble. From people who didn't even watch Eurovision! That's her impact. And I think one of the reasons I love Eurovision the way I do today is because of this victory. Ever since I started watching, not a single winning entry made me celebrate so much as she did back then. Actually... not back then, but until today, especially with her winning speech, which is ART in less than one minute.

According to my last.fm, I've played this song 66 times in TWO DAYS last month, which is... more than all my scrobbles of the entries of this year summed up???? This has IMPACT. This has POWER. This is a HIT.
No, but really, I have a friend who doesn't watch Eurovision and when I posted a stories of La La Love he was like "omg I thought I was the only one who knew this song????". And while the vocals were... differentiated, it's a crime this wasn't even on the top 15. SHAME, EUROPE.

I'm glad your first sight of Eurovision was actually a good song (unlike my first viewing) and an iconic hamster wheel. The first time I watched live was in 2015 (After being aware of it in 2014 and following it loosely but not LIVE) and the first song I had to hear was sleazy Eduard Romanyuta . Back on topic Tick-Tock gets a bit to much hate even f 6th was slightly high. Ashame Mariya has kind of faded from her music career because of stage fright.

Only above 2011 because I at least ADORE my top 15. And the postcards are great. Probably not watching it ever again. Worst year ever technically speaking. Hate the winner.

I also adore my top 15, but I dislike a lot of songs here. At least one of the best top 3 ever. Otherwise, it's a year I don't care about.

2017.
Some problems, bad stagings (and staging is a MUST for me). The only year so far my winner was out of the final. The worst fandom of the world (aka the REAL MUSIC fandom) just got power. Salvador I hate you. AT LEAST, I listen to some songs more regularly than the years above.

2015. BOOM. The most overrated year of the decade. I don't think it's the best year song-wise (I dislike basically a third of the songs). The worst hosts of the decade and I HATED when Mans won. I've learned to love heroes as time was passing by, but this year is still bittersweet to me.

2012. FANTASTIC winner, there are a bunch of amazing songs, but, I don't know, something feels off? I think it's because it's way too intercalated between WOW THIS SNAPS and meh i don't care. Hosts are also awful.

2013. the most underrated year this decade. I am still shocked when I see putting 2013 as the worst year this decade. A bunch of creative and fantastic songs, a lot of bops, iconic stagings, petra made, etc. The problem? Some choices. Some entries of my top 15 died and my ENTIRE bottom 10 lived - some even did well!

2018. It was hard to decide whether 2018 was #3 or #2. It's the second year I listen to the songs the mosts. Toy is a good winner - even though I was underwhelmed by it despite being in my top 10? It's strange. Almost every single entry of my top 10 went to the finals (rip Laura brazilian kween) but only one entry of my top 5 was in the top 10!!!!!!

2016. While I don't listen to the songs as much as the 2018 ones, this gets the second place because of the overall production. Fantastic. Sweden is a great host. Love Love Peace Peace is a blessing to the world. Best hosts ever (I think it was here when I started warming up to heroes?). Never my top 5 placed so well in the competition. I mean, all of them in the top 10? My top 3 in the top 5? My top 2 in the top 3? It snaps.

2016 is The Best Year Ever for me, and 2012 honestly kind of sucks, but otherwise my ranking goes something like this too. i agree that 2018 is better than 2017 overall, that 2015 isn't all that (i think it's worse than 2017 and 2010! not 2012 though), and that 2013 is an underrated gem.

It's that type of song that you are listening to and are feeling like 'hmm that's fine but i think it should be a little more upbeat' and THEN............... 15 years with finals. Out of these years, 2017 was THE ONLY YEAR I had lost my personal winner at the semis. Now I wanna cry every time I listen to the song.

I know she thought it was something like eurovision quacking contest with those vocals BUT!!!!!!! Demy qualified!!!!!!!!!!!!
