Gosh, only two qualifications in the last ten years and one of them ended in a last spot in final. I hope Ireland ups their game! We (Finland) did it after some really boring years, and honestly you can too xcheer

WHO let the lead singer NOT put a pair of socks or SOMETHING down his crotch to prevent a camel toe in front of 100 million people. What on earth was he thinking? Poor Ireland. They really have gone from bad to worse to terrible.

He sang. Periodically. The rest of the band did the heavy lifting. I mean, when he didn't even sing the first "We are one" all hope really was gone.
I wonder if that is according to the rules since it says that the "significant parts" have to be live, so when the lead singer leaves out so much.... Anyway the question is hypothetical as they didn't qualify. But the EBU needs to reconsider that rule imo.

Whicht hope?? If there was one entry that was totally DOA from the beginning it was really :ie:.
I feel there was always a chance. But when your lead singer isn't singing for great strides of the song, and can't even do the first chorus it killed the energy stone dead.

If there is one consolation it is that the video of their live performance is the 11th most viewed of the night. So maybe it was closer than people are giving it credit, or people are just so baffled by the lead's costume, who knows!?

Conor looked very nervous, uncomfortable throughout - did he even smile once? I don't think so. No audience connection. Vocals were crap
I honestly thought he had some drinks too much, he looked so confused the whole time and I had the impression he was very insecure on legs and almost fell down on the floor a few times. I felt so much sorry for him, really, that was so painful to watch.

Maybe he should have had a say in their visuals and staging and if he had, why was he thinking that Prince-esque outfit would match the U2-esque song?!

I said the same to my partner when watching, I wondered if he had had a drink beforehand to steady his nerves.

That IG post on Conor's grid is giving sour grapes vibes.

Conor has posted on his insta that ‘they never give Ireland a chance’

STOP SENDING CRAP AND YOU’LL GET GOOD RESULTS

It's giving British press, public and entrants pre- Sam Ryder. Wild Youth should have gone with something that was truly representative of them. Instead they wrote a basic cookie cutter middle of the road U2 album filler song that offends no one, but also impresses no one. It's the exact type of song that exists for Eurovision yet completely misses the mark. If they stuck to their style and went with a song that wasn't written with every Eurovision misconception in mind then they would have stood a fair shot and probably had a decent chance.

I know he's upset but I thought that was rude. Does he mean the televoters don't give Ireland a chance? Maybe he should take a look at his poor song and vocals and think again.
I wonder would he be brave enough to say that in front of the qualifiers who got through?
