I still think Jedward was a perfect choice in 2011, and is still the best act Ireland sent in Eurovision during the 2000s.
About Nicky Byrne, I am afraid that it would be a rather boring choice and he would still need a great song to qualify. :/

I think he is a bad singer and not a very charismatic person.
He is also employed as a tv presenter by RTE so it looks bad for them to hand him the Eurovision gig.

He's just not a good singer. As Westlife singers go he's probably one of the nicest. The only personality thing that I can hold against him is that his father in law played a large role in ruining the country both socially and economically. But I digress, he can't sing, that's the worst part.

It'd be fine if Ireland could give up Late Late as their selection process... That's ridiculous how Irish people can believe in a eight victory with only 5 artists which are not so different => music style, how they look like...
