^ Glad they got rid of the first backing vocals. The new ones are better. Is it live btw? It sounds live.

It's too good to be true! :D  I hope they can deliver a performance as good as this one if it really is live. No doubt, they'll do great in the event of good vocals. ;)

Some comments:
Michelle Farrugia: This was a surprise for me from Ireland. I have to be honest and say I love their more traditional entries and unfortunately I don’t think succumbing to popular music really works for them. However, looking at Lipstick, it is a well produced pop song that is fun and catchy. Jedward do put all into the presentation and can carry the song well hopefully it will be enough to get them through. Five Points!

Tobias Larsson: The closing entry of the second semi is the real shocker and surprise - the punkiest entry ever entered by Ireland. John and Edward could maybe not carry a tune in a bucket, but they ooze with energy and star quality, eager to conquer the world. Maybe not a winner in the end, but a magnificently bubbly piece of bubblegum pop that could secure some pretty solid scoring in the end. Eight Points!

Steve Allen: Yes, I like it, arty electro kitsch pop from Jedward, a lot of fun, great chorus quirky lyric and nice art pop video..very catchy catchy catchy and a hit record! Ten Points as well, great!

Sorry but I wouldn't put too much reliance on this I'm afraid. I think at least half of this list will struggle to scare the top 10. Perhaps the least realistic poll since the one I saw with Portugal in first place...

Oh and I agree - the latest live version was many times better than previous versions. Backing vocals much improved - who could have thought that Jedward were being let down by their backing singers!!

The Google poll tracks search stats for each artist, excluding searches from each artist's home country.

Jedward's poll-topping position (they're doing even better today!) indicates a high level of interest from across Europe.

This could indicate a repeat of what happened in X Factor. Love them or hate them, Jedward have a tendency to grab people's attention.

Hopefully, this will translate into votes for 'Lipstick'.
I still think it could be a memorable winner.

I read in a website that my lovely Leanne Moore will be backing singer. If it is true, I'm gonna vote for Ireland, like i did last year.
In Leanne's twitter, she's talking about rehearsals in Düsseldorf.
Hope she competes in 2012 alone.

I read this comment somewhere before.

I will vote for Ireland no matter whether Leanne is there or not. :D this song is so positive that it makes me happy when i listened to it every single time.

Hope they will be at least in TOP 10. ;)

I am pretty sure that Jedward fans have attacked google poll :p They would be lucky to get into the final.

EDIT: I see these are search polls, so I am not surprise Jedward is leading anyway :D

You may feel pretty sure, but you are wrong!
Read the Google criteria - searches from each act's home country are excluded; points are awarded on the basis of searches from all participating countries, with each country awarding 1-12 points.
So, the Google poll reflects a consistently higher level of interest in Jedward than in any other act.

p.s. In previous years, similar Google polls have successfully predicted winners and near-winners.
