I like it very much. Nice, upbeat, a bit different, but fun song. Compared to everything else (well, with some exceptions, of course) it is a really good song... Good luck, Ireland! :)

I would like Ireland to win but don't mind if they don't although entries like Dustin are embarassing.
Well, Ireland have always been one of my favorite countrys since I started to watch this contest, like 34 something years ago, so I won't give up hope that you'll get back to some of your former glory at some point. :D

It won't be this year though,,,, even if Jedward somehow would manage to win, it's not at the same standard.

I had an interesting conversation with an Irish friend of mine. I had assumed as a professional woman in her 30s she would see Jedward as something of a joke but to my surprise she was a big fan and actually thought they were great singers.

So bizarrely they do have their fans - and they're not all teenage girls:?:?

Of course there are always exceptions, even Justin Bieber has grown up fans (don't ask me how) but just her comment that she thinks they are great singers says a lot lol

they are not great singers, but they do have stage presence and are very charismatic.
one thing is for sure that the international media in germany will love them.
and if you have been to their concerts you will see that they can sing.
hell, the biggest artists in the world seldom sing live and if they do, they've got massive backing (e.g. madonna, britney spears, enrique iglesias) or mime

"Hold Me Now" is from 1987. ;) I really don't see what would happen if Ireland ever got beaten at wins... You'll have held the record for very long by then anyway. ;)

I don't think Ireland will ever get the same winning streaks again, out of 2 reaons.
1. Different geographical voters now.
2. The Irish people's mentality towards this competition. It scares the top performers / composers away, and leave the public with dubious thoughts towards it.

I think this is a common problem for many countrys today, the UK being one of them. If this were to change, i.e some high end artists started showing up, i'm sure the publics view would change aswell.

We don't have the same problem, half the population say "drop that crap competetion" and then they still end up in the sofa, watching it voting for it, we have another problem, the infinite loop problem with the same artists and especially, the same composers every year. If we could break that trend, we might enjoy it more aswell. :D

I have a feeling this really has a chance of winning, despite what the betters think.

Jedward are doing the British travelsupermarket.com adverts!

Carbrand Hyundai will use Lipstick for their advertising campaign in Asia.
i read Jedward will receive € 200,000 for the soundtrack and playing along Jim Carrrey, Ryan Reynolds and Leonardo di Caprio? WOW...
Lipstick will be all over Asia then

Their voices are tooo annoying but the song is nice but then i see their faces and they're getting on my nerves again. I don't know. It's a weird song & has a chance to win.

And today I hate this even more than yesterday (and believe me, it was so difficult).
The live version pisses me off and when they start to shout OOOHHHH OOOOHHH!!!! oh gosh... :|
They could've joined Gio and make a perfect threesome...

And I won't talk about the looks....

I voted on the poll today, I'm giving it an 8. It's catchy in a very irritating way....but still a good song. (and that's something since I don't really like Jedward, maybe it's because I can't hear their voices in the live performance....)

However I have a feeling it'll benefit more from first time listeners cause it has the potential to get old fast.

Not sure if we'll qualify, the odds seem fairly good at the moment and you know it'll stand out from the rest. Although they're performing last in the 19th slot. I guess that didn't stop Iceland last year from getting through.

I still think 'Lipstick' could do well.
The Jeds specialise in springing surprises (ask Simon Cowell!!)

Much will depend on:
(a) the quality of their live performance
(b) the age profile of the juries
(c) their ability to get a big tele-vote
