Silja Rós & Kjalar – “Ég styð þína braut” has all the ingredients from the wonderful norway 2015 duet.
or not?
I am still stunned that they left their best horse in the stable.

Am I the only one here who feels Sigga Ózk?
The song reminds me of young Madonna (the singer does not, ofc). "Crazy for You" has been in my playlist for ages xheart
But yes, Diljá is GREAT too! Although, I have a strong feeling that we've had a similar act in Eesti Laul before. Trying to recall that...
Don't feel for the other songs in the final, sorry (unless, Silja Rós & Kjalar gets a Wild Card ofc).

Dilja seems like quality. My problem with her song is I don't feel it, there's no good or moving melody lines.
I don't know what I'd do if in Iceland right now. My favorite, the only song I really liked, is out (Silja & Kjalar)

Langi Seli & Skuggarnir are the current odds favorites at 30 %. Worst song in the selection but I can see :is: going for it to be honest.

That can't be right
But wait - does that mean they'll all sing in English in the final? Except "Ok" ofc. On the national finals page all song titles are also only in English now :unsure:

All songs will be sung in English except for OK which only has one version.

Gosh, why didn't they keep Icelandic...

Well maybe English versions are good too, but I really like Icelandic as a language :(
Ok, but that still doesn't mean they don't sing in Icelandic in Liverpool? Or does it?
At least, didn't find any information about that anywhere.

I want Sigga to win with English, and the change the song to Icelandic for the contest.

It might be a dream that could never be reached, but who knows?

According to this poll, dilja is going to win easily.

btw, around 2000 voters, which I would say is quite representative of a country of 350.000 people.

+ so if we have a superfinal with dilja and that ok band I think dilja has the upper hand. I think she'll win both rounds but the in 2nd round with even more votes since I think the votes from Celebs and Sigga will go to her.

I'm now watching the Icelandic national final, for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, Söngvakeppnin Final 2023, live online from the UK. Five finalist songs are taking part tonight; those are:

Song 1: Sigga Ózk – "Dancing Lonely"
Song 2: Bragi – "Sometimes the World's Against You"
Song 3: Celebs – "Doomsday Dancing"
Song 4: Diljá – "Power"
Song 5: Langi Seli & Skuggarnir – "OK"

Good luck to al five finalist songs. May the best song win.

By the way, I watched the preview videos (the ones with the static photos of the artists) on YouTube late afternoon today, once each in performance order, so I already have some idea of the songs. It'll be interesting to see how they are performed and staged live tonight.
