Re: ICELAND 2019

Hatari walked on stage as if they were unhappy to advance to the final - all attitude of course. Once again - I find this very weird and disturbing.

Then they have achieved their goal.

I'm gonna vote for Hatari like 10 million times. Afraid that it might lose in the final 2 though to something bland that middle aged people like. They usually get their way and send something that doesn't have a chance in hell and will fail to qualify.

Maybe - it's just that I want to be entertained at Eurovision, not so much disturbed. On the other hand, I couldn't say I dislike the song. Though I couldn't say I like it..... But I'm not indifferent to it either. Never experienced this with a song up to now.....

I think you describe exactly how this song makes most people feel :)

Why couldn't you be entertained and disturbed simultaneously? I mean.... that's why horror movies are popular right? I think why so many people are drawn towards this song is because Hatari is so unapologetic and direct in it's message. Yes the lyrics are very dark, but life can also be very dark at times. The lyrics are personally what I like most about the song. I prefer disturbing and honest over the fake happy songs about peace, love and unicorn rainbows which don't really say anything. To quote the song 'Happiness will end, for it is an illusion'.

People may be confused on how to feel about this act, but every single one at least feels something. That's more than I can say about any of the other entries from Iceland this year. For that reason alone they should be the ones to go to Tel Aviv.

I don't like horror movies....

I appreciate your enthusiasm for this entry, but it's a bit strange to ask me if I couldn't be entertained and disturbed simultaneously. It would be like asking someone to be happy and depressed at the same time. Of course that may happen, but if it doesn't, it doesn't. ;)

Hatari's performance was quite good, but it was really flat on the chorus and it didn't transmit all the energy of the song, I hope they can do better next time. Actually, Hera's performance wasn't that boring and that's obviously her that has to go to Tel Aviv if Hatari isn't.

Hatari's performance was a little disappointing (more energy needed) but it already seems they are boiling piss across Europe so I'm more behind them winning than ever

Re: ICELAND 2019

I noticed a similarity in the 2 semi finals this year in Söngvakeppnin

Tonight's semi had a group (Hatari)
Next weeks semi has a group (Elli Grill, Skaði & Glymur)

Tonight's semi had a female pop soloist (Imsland)
Next week's semi has a female pop soloist (Tara Mobee)

Tonight's semi had a male soloist (Daniel Oliver)
Next week's semi has a male soloist (Ívar Daníels)

Tonight's semi had a female soloist (Kristina)
Next weeks semi has a female soloist (Heiðrún)

Tonight's semi had a Eurovision alumni (Hera Björk)
Next weeks semi has a Eurovision alumni (Friðrik Ómar)

Re: ICELAND 2019

Hatari is surely fresh and interesting proposal..

But I would like if they have chosen a bit different approach towards the staging..

I'm searching for Hera's video now to see who do I support in the final for now..

If somebody has the link, please post it here..

Hatari making it was all that mattered really, would have preferred literally anyone to Hera but Daniel was SO bad and the other two were anonymous

I really liked Hataris performance. I find it great that it was not "too" shocking, but still right up their alley. They don't want to scare off the grannies at home right away, they need to get used to them a bit. Looks good for them though! :D

Re: ICELAND 2019

At first it put me off, but the more I listen to Hatari the more I like it. If they win, it would definitively stand out in Eurovision, they would even have a good chance of getting into the top.
I like Imsland too, her song feels magical. I concede it may not be the best on stage, or for Eurovision for that matter, but at least it went straight to my driving playlist.

Up to 15th with the bookmakers. We were between 30 and 40 before the first semi final.
