My favourite performance of the night, but I wonder why it was so flat in the arena? Spoke to a few people who said that it wasn't great in the arena and Estonia got a better reaction!

I get the impression that most people in the arenas are the typical OGAE'rs who worship at the altar of schlager and big ballads and the like.

I genuinely thought this wouldn't make it. I still dislike it and I don't know why but I thought "hmm what would my mom think of this?". Yeah she wouldn't like it at all. I get the fandom in here and in other Eurovision forums and groups but I didn't see this reaching out to the average viewer/voter.

The music is ok, even the chorus is ok. But the screaming part makes me wanna turn it off and that's why I will never like this song. We could have had Sigúr Ros (if Iceland wanted to go down the electronic music road)...

Still trying to recover from the paralysis I suffered last night. This song has everything I want from Eurovision and Hatari will be what I miss most in 2020. Their absence will be felt.

Iceland never deserved to win this contest more than now.

I didn't feel the chemestry I thought I would about this, sadly. Actually this left me rather unimpressed. Comparing it to other qualifiers though, well, yes, I'm ok with this going through.

We all make mistakes. :(

I agree that Ódýr is better than Hatrið mun sigra. It’s probably the best of their released songs but they have two unreleased songs that I love even more. I’m really looking forward to their album in September.

I also was expecting that people would go wild for it, but it did not happen (as far as I can tell from watching TV.)
Some also think that Hatari are not that popular with locals.

I predict they're going to pull out the flag of Palestine or something on Saturday and get disqualified

My winner this year qualified. Congrats, Iceland and welcome back to the finals. This years, absolutely deserved. And one more thing - the lead singers are really smart guys. I saw their interviews. I mean, wow. They look like act on and off stage, but their work carries so much symbolism on so many levels... Pure art if you ask me. If this wins, and I hope it does, it will be one of the best winners in ages that will combine both - music and politics. Good luck, Iceland, you get my vote on Saturday.

I'm starting to genuinely enjoy this. Not just "ha ha, they're different and not boring", but really, yesterday's performance was great. xcheer

I will be supporting Iceland as well on satzrday. Don't know how realistic it is that they might actually win, but I rather doubt it. But for me, they would be one of the best winners ever. Chances are small, but at ESC anything can happen as we all can see.

Maybe Iceland isn't popular with the locals because some leather-wearing guys yelling at them in a Germanic language whose song's title literally is "Hate will prevail"... brings bad memories.

Not true, our Slovenian tv host explained very well to the viewers what the song is about before they started to sing. All the symbolism... So, no bad memories. hahaha And since many Slovenians despise capitalism, I think they will relate to Hatari's message. :geek:
