Actually this and Bosnia have grown a lot on me.. I have it in my top 5 and BiH as my number one.. you can see that those songs speak for themselves, you don't need half naked singers or gimmicks to make those two songs shine on the stage.

God how I wish I could vote for this song, unfortunately I can't. I listened to this song more times that I can count and I still want more. Beautiful, magical a bit haunting – pure audio bliss.

The Icelandic participants meet every day and rehearse for the act they will perform on the stage in Baku. The act has gone through some changes since the Icelandic pre-selections but as expected, they will keep it all a secret until they start rehearsing in Baku. The rehearsals in Iceland take place at the Iceland Academy of the Arts where Greta studied both violin performance and composition. Along with Greta and Jonsi, there will be four backing vocals on the stage in Baku, all of whom have participated before in the Icelandic pre-selections and the two male singers have even gone as backing vocals in Eurovision before.

At the Eurovision contest Icelandic duet will perform "Never Forget". Greta Salome tells about the inspiration behind her lyrics - In September 2010 Greta attended a workshop that took place at Skalholt, the place filled with history that has played a big role in Iceland’s music culture. The lyrics tell the story about the two lovers Ragnheiрur and Daрi, a true story that happened in the mid 17th century. Ragnheiрur was the daughter of the bishop in Skalholt and Daрi studied with the bishop and was like son to him. When suspicions rose about their relationship, she was ordered to take an oath in front of the whole congregation and swear that she was still a virgin, which she was at the time. The same night she went to Daрi, filled with shame and humiliation from the oath and they spent the night together for the first time and conceived a child. When her father discovered that she was pregnant he sent her off to another farm where she was held against her will, while Daрi was sent back to his home and banned from Skalholt. Even though they were separated and kept apart, they still managed to send letters to each other where they describe their desperation and sorrow but still hope for the chance to be together again. Ragnheiрur gave birth to a baby boy but died shortly being only 22 years of age. The song Never Forget captures the story’s desperation and hope for a better day. Even though the story takes place in Iceland about 400 years ago, it still speaks to us as it is a classic story about lovers who are apart but dreaming of being together again.

As earlier reported, Greta is working with Icelandic designer Rebekka Ingimundardottir and seamstress Elma Bjarney on her dress for the contest. "Of course I can’t say how the dress will be, but we’ve decided to keep it classy and beautiful. Dress should emphasize features and effects that are already in the song, but never steal the attention or take anything away from the song". Meanwhile, Greta Salome everyday trains Crossfit, a sport that consists of Olympic weightlifting, gymnastics and athletics. According to her she loves spending time in the gym, pushing herself to the max. Her boyfriend runs the Crossfit box where she trains, so this is where they spend most of their time together.

Jonsi’s schedule is well packed these days as he currently juggles preparing for Eurovision and studying for his finals in Psychology at Reykjavik University, plus attending to his two sons and spending time with his wife, Rosa. He claims that he simply has not had the time to listen to the other entries but plans to make up for that during his long flight to Azerbaijan.

The Icelandic participants will travel furthest of all contestants in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. The group will set off from RUV headquarters in Reykjavik at 4 am on May 12th . The first pit stop will be in Frankfurt and from there they fly to Istanbul in Turkey. Estimated arrival in Baku will be at approximately 1:30 am on May 13th. Hopefully they’ll get some sleep after taking a bus to downtown Baku and settling in at the hotel. The rest will be much needed as their first rehearsal will be early morning on the 13th.

Meanwhile, the duet has launched official site with this and other information that can be accessed as www.gretasalome.com
