Bugger.

Reminds me of Portugal last year, I was worried the feeling wouldn't get across, and I guess it didn't, or maybe it's just the type of song that gets missed. I liked Origo but I enjoyed this more. Hope he came 11th. Tonight certainly won't be the last time I listen to it. Oh well xshrug

This didn`t quite touch me as much as I had hoped it would. Idk something was just missing. I really liked the performance itself but his vocals weren`t as good as I had expected them to be. Looks like people did not connect to the song after all. Surprised non-qualifier but I do get why it didn`t make the cut.

Song: 5/12
Performance: 6/12
Vocals: 5/12
Overall: 5/12
Semi Ranking: 5 out of 17

Those haunted spirits of grumpy old men had me hiding behind the sofa. I'm SORT of glad karma caught up with Hungary this year because they had 5 or 6 much better songs in A Dal and actively sought to eliminate all of them.

Personally, I'm not at all shocked Joci NQ'd. Alaska, Opinionsigotem and I liveblogged the semi on messenger and "Az en apam" just passed us by without any of us needing to comment or respond. It's not a good song, and like RainyWoods correctly pointed out, it was a step down from Origo (not like the casual remembers Origo - well, my mom didn't anyway)

I'm mostly shocked that SERHAT beat Joci lmfao. That came out of nowhere and I'm still wrapping my brain around how it came to be, but it leaves me somewhat... bemused if you will? Yes, I'm going crazy, WE CAN ALL GO CRAZY.

oh and Hungary flopping was TOTALLY deserved after what they did to Leander Kills and Timi Antal and Gergo Szeker and Petruska (and DENIZ, whom I don't care about but sure, I'll chuck him in there as well). Hungary had so many options to make it out of this semi consisting blatant NQ fodder and Zero Gravity, and took none of them, so I'd say this NQ was, as Bitter Queen Tamar Karpelian would say, the result of #BadKarma.

BorisBubbles you missed out Fatal Error but please do take my like. More than any country this year, I think it was Hungary that made me feel most frustrated after their NF had finished. I thought they had so many good options and instead they go for the song which fans seemed to almost unanimously consider a step down from the previous entry of the artist. Come back stronger or don't come back at all. Serhat's qualification may come as a surprise to almost everyone but he finished 11th before with a song that about two people liked, and came back this year with a song that was very warmly received by the fandom upon release. The maths was there all along.

Having said that though, Joci Pápai still did a good job. It's sad to see returning favourites miss.

Man, I thought Hungary was a sure qualifier! I like the song. It's no Origo but still.

A huge surprise for me. Although I always found the song bland and didn't see him as a sure qualifier back when he was chosen, the performance was great, and I was 100% certain that he will make it.

Should have made it instead of :by: for sure. Too bad.

The juries were blamed for him not qualifying but the televote was to blame. Who would have thought?

I still fail to understand this Result. I was sure he is a TV-Magnet.

not surprised tbh. the song is so...... medium. also, it did win a format where the juries killed everything the televote wanted and then made them choose between the rest. of course the juries didn't kill it in eurovision lol.
