This is the first good song of this year.
Not an amazing entry though.
But still 8 points are enough.

Love the singer's raspy voice :D song is very good too, Hungary never disappoints me.
However I have to say they had more interesting offers in the final - especially Gergo and Parno Graszt - would be nice to have a bit of gypsy flavour back in ESC, especially from Hungary who have a lot to choose from in this type of music.
Freddie is the best choice for a good result in Stockholm though

Hungary has a strange pattern since their return

2011 hate it
2012 love it
2013 hate it
2014 love it
2015 hate it
2016 love it

Ok this is how I saw the performance
- A handsome young man in tight jeans making sexy faces.
- Backingsingers woooahh ooo ooo
- The singer showing off his husky voice in a random pseudoclimax.
- A big tribal drum and more woooahh ooo ooo
- Whistling
- More woooahhh ooo ooo and non-sense repetitive lyrics
- The sexy guy showing off again... and more woooahh ooo ooo, whistling and drum. Wow how indie, right?

Is there anything more formulaic than this? Boring!

Rather good choice from Hungary this year. Good looking guy, singing a pretty good song. It ain't perfect, but it makes an impact at least. Good choice Hungary, can see this do rather well, go to the final at least! :)

Love this song, it's my absolute favourite so far. Potential winner actually, and I would like to see Hungary on top after all these years where they sent so many good songs (esp. 2013 ♥).

Interesting voice, strong singer, i'm not too keen of the song, but it's one of them that may grow, when I hear them more often.....

It seems that if your national final quality in general is worse, the song you choose is better. If you have a lot of qualitatively good songs, chances are that you make the less desirable choice like Hungary did last year (I still liked the song though). But if your national final is mediocre like this year, you will immediately choose the right song.

The same happened to Iceland, who had a great preselection last year and chose the wrong song, and had a mediocre selection this year, but managed to end up with a better song. Moral of the story, just have a horrible preselection with one good song

Anyway, I really like this entrance, but :hu: barely disapoints me so I wasn't expecting anything else.

My favourite entry so far. The song itself is nothing special, but very nice and listenable, along with the sexiest guy of this year it creates the perfect harmony :D

Great job by Freddie, he was up there with Andras in my top 2. What bugs me is that Andras' singing was off-key from the instrumental track played at the live A Dal Final.

Turns out that the track playing in Andras' earpiece during the Final may have been the studio version and not the slowed down/pitch-lowered instrumental track we've been hearing in the various live shows. This Hungarian video (below) shows that Andras' voice and pitch was almost identical to the studio track -- he actually sang the song perfectly/as he originally recorded it.

I think Freddie can do well in Stockholm with this entry, but "Pioneer" is not among my favorites at the moment. Would´ve hoped for Gergö Olah or Mushu on Saturday. So 5 Points from me.

Pedestrian, boring song, but since it was obvious from the getgo, that this will be the winner, or Kallay Saunders, who messed it up big time, the result didn't shock me the slightest. The only half-decent songs in the final were either Mushu, or the girl-boy duet, although live performance could have been better for both though.

Well. If he keeps it rough, it may work. If he falls into melodramatic sticky romance, it may fail. The whistling choir is disturbing. If Vaclav Noid Barta sung this song, it would be 12 points. At the moment it's in the middle of the road, but could be a grower.

btw I had to listen the song without video... he's too cute to be objective

Good choice Hungary - a very punchy refrain, and overall this is a good song, but that's all about it. No winner or top 5 material IMO.
