Re: HUNGARY 2016

I wanted Kallay-Saunders Band to win but after that performance, I am slightly disappointed. I wouldn't mind Gerogh Olah winning A Dal as well.

Can you tell me how Mohamed Fatima finished last in the 1st heat, it was a surprise to me, I thought she was a fave to qualify, I saw that her songs are popular on YT and have many views! Maybe jury killed her, was she bad live in the first heat, or maybe song wasn't popular!? :? Or maybe now Hungarians don't like her cause she is from Iraq, due to current situation with refugees!? :?

No, it's not related with the refugees, this topic died down a bit, IMO. Fatima's voice was the greatest part of the song, it's fix. But it's not a good song for her, it's to simple to her awesome qualities. The structure of the song is a bit boring for me, she's basically sing RnBs, so you can understand why I say that. :D The live performance has a serious weakness also, cause they use fake musicians (and it was so awful in live, if we talk about a contrabasser and a saxophonist :D), and that weakens the production also.

Mohamed Fatima is popular in Hungary?

She became well known as a member of the formation "Fekete Vonat", in the late 90s (she was only 16-17). When the band split, she moved to London. In 2013 she appeared in Voice (talent show), and she continued a solo carrier in Hungary. But if I look on the 30 performer, I can find 10-15 more popular than her. But no one hates her, she's really likeable person as I see.

Oh, 2012s winner for me in Hungary is Heincz Gábor - Learning To Let Go! :) It was so cute. It was a very weak NF, indeed, Compact Disco wasn't too bad, but it wasn't my favourite.

I don't know man. I really enjoyed it. Has a nice melody and catchy chorus. Why do you say it's a bad song?

Exactly for the things that you think they're good while for me they aren't. For me, that song had no melody at all, and overall it's very tiresome, heavy and repetitive. Besides, the live vocal performance was not so good.

Okay, let's agree to disagree ;-) Different people, different music taste/understanding.

I've watched, and have to say, I'm done with this selection for this year. The jury picks were all terrible save Szilvia Agardy, some of the best songs were kicked out including Julia Horanyi or Viki Singh. The Petruska guy was not only obnoxious, but his song was terrible as his mind.

Re: HUNGARY 2016

A Dal is probably my favorite NF in terms of quality. I have liked every single Hungarian song since their return and I have a feeling that this streak is going to continue. There are so many good songs in tonight's Semi and I know it's unlikely that my Top 4 will all qualify but maybe I'll get lucky. I was a huge fan of Kallay Saunders two years ago so of course I was hopeful that his new song with his band would be great but I didn't expect this. Oh my, it's completely different from his previous efforts and just shows his range as an artist as well as vocalist. The chorus is incredibly powerful so my fingers are crossed for "Who We are".

That being said, I think that Gergo Olah's song is so unique and I find it incredibly appealing. It would be a worthy winner and certainly add diversity to the 2016 line-up. And then there is Mushu, another great song with so much potential. And I also like Petruska, it was really difficult to rank these songs. I'm really looking forward to this and my hope is that at least three of my four favorites will move on.

Much better performance by KSB this time. Better vocals and few tweaks to the music and staging. The song seems to have sped up a bit.
