I think French and Swedish sound lovely. It all depends on a person's tastes.

Exactly my point, and by picking english, you somehow pick a "neutral" language that probably don't hurt so much in some peoples ears, like Hrvatska19 for example. :) I'm sure he's not alone with that taste.

Yeah, I see that. There are positives to both sides, but I'd much rather see the culture of the nation than have the contest be neutral.

My point aswell, and I thought this was the point with Eurovision? Bringing the continent together? Representing countries? Sharing and learning? I must have misunderstood this contest brutally it seems.

From an esthetic point of view people will always prefer some languages over others, but I think it's interesting though to have diversity, and with an open mind you can find something good in most languages I think.

Definitely better in Hungarian. Other than that it's just a catchy song and I love up-tempo ones with this being one of the best of the edition - 10 points. ;)

Well, I'll say honestly right now the LAST thing I listen to when listening to a song are the lyrics. I listen to strength of the voice of the singer, its uniqueness, and then the music in the song. That's what is important to me, and that's what made me interested in Eurovision in the first place, because its rare to find a contest with actual artists singing full songs live and showcasing it to the rest of the world, no matter the language.

Ahhh, yes,,, very noble and fluffy, :) But it's still a prestigeus competition, and I think the performers or the artists like to win, sometimes, it's their careers on the line. :)

Personally I won't learn much about a culture by hearing a song in it's native language, I'd rather read up on it and preferably go visit if I get the chanse.
Again don't get me wrong, I'm all fine about singing in native languages, but I don't think it's what this contest is ALL about.

and as a edited sidenote,, with englsh I'll know what the song is about, and that's interesting to me, when I hear a song. :)

Not all but atleast some don't you think? I mean why representing countries? Why Europe? Why not have a European idol instead.

Anyways.. you guys can bring this discussion to the topic I started, we are just way off-topic now really.

ye, there are many issues one can discuss about that, like composers from one country writing songs for singers in another country, and even bringing singers compteting for a country they are not from :) But I'll bring that to your topic, if needed. :D

I think this Hungarian song is an absolute gem. In my top 3 with Bosnia and Slovenia. I think the 3-minute version with UK and Hungarian lyrics is a triumph. Would love to see this do really well as it not only deserves to but it's nice to see nations outside the big ESC super-powers doing well, and it's good for the competition. Not to mention the fact the big nations have all produced really poor contenders this year that are nowhere near the quality of this song.

I love your tastes, cause thats my Top 3 as well. I just hope Kati Wolf can sing live as well as she does in the video.
