wrong.
there's a whole verse in Hungarian.

EDIT: Bali beat me to it
sorry :mrgreen::mrgreen:

imo thats the most beuatiful part to be kept in Hungarian. Thats what she herself said too, cause thats the most 'silent' part of the song.

Oh wow! ONE whole verse!!

Well, in a symbolic way it's good I guess.

TBH, I've accepted that the "old" esc with each country singing in their native language is dead... for few years now.
so a verse in Hungarian is A LOT better than none :p

Oh it's dead if we accept and want it to be.

Well, I am full aware of and understand and accept that since change of language rule in 1999 it won't be like before.

But 2011 is just extreme and atleast prior the juries being brought back, we got atleast a somewhat balance, but in just two years it's like there didn't even exist any other languages in Europe than English.

You should start a petition. At least half a song should be in the country's native language in ESC. I'd sign it. If we get enough signatures, we could go far with it.

Nah, I belive some languages have a disadvantage sounding not so good to some, while other languages are really beautiful to some, all depending one what language group you belong to originally.

And I don't like the idea of anyone having an advantage over another just because of your language.

I do belive in that you have the right of freely choosing what language to sing in.
I can however, on the other hand, totally agree on, that the language you win your NF with, or is announced with, is the language the song needs to be performed with at the ESC.

Yes, I agree with that. I hate how hectic it gets when people are wondering about what language the song will be performed in, and which version is going to be released when.

^^ exactly! Songs in Spanish, Italian, Greek and the Slavic languages all sound nice and sometimes German depending on style of song...but I don't want to hear people singing in dutch, Icelandic, swedish and other Scandinavian languages or French because those languages are horrible to the ears in my opinion...especially in songs. So therefore, id rather those countries sing English

I think French and Swedish sound lovely. It all depends on a person's tastes.

I don't believe in a rule like that, the only thing I would want is that a rule states that countries can't change the language of a chosen entry, and that juries should pay attention to things like language.

Other than that, I think it should be a free choice.

I don't know how to start a petition, but if someone knows they can do this :)

Anyways back on-topic before people get angry with me again  I just wanted to express on this entry basically.

You can post in the topic I made about this in the other section.

But now you have an advantage in English so...

Yes, well, everybody have the same advantage with english, or call it, opportunity if you will, don't they? ;)

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate songs in their native language aswell, at least some, sound like they are really ment for it and are performed with more spirit since it may really MEAN something to the performers,
but what i'm proclaiming is the RIGHT to choose. I would really hate to go back to where you have to sing in your native language.

Those were the times when Finland always ended up last for some reason. (not saying I don't appreciate the finnish language, I think it's cool, but back then, I don't think many voters did for example)

No they ended last because their songs sucked at most times  (sorry neighbors)

Remember last year, Finland would have qualified to the final if juries didn't stop it.

And in 2008 they qualified to the final in Finnish aswell.

Anyways, back on-topic.

Hungarian is very nice and worked for the song, so all I wanted to say really is that it's sad they went for an almost complete English version.

No offense intended! "horrible" was probably too strong a word. Just to me I can't feel any emotion from songs in Scandinavian languages because they sound strange to me ecause I've never been around it. Doesn't mean I wouldnt like the song- just I'd probably prefer it in English. Case and point the Dutch entry this year- I liked the song before but it's moved considerably higher on my list now it's in English.
