There is no way Poland and Armenia will sit out. I would say 39 countries is pretty much guaranteed. With a little bit of luck, maybe we can see 40 finally.

Guys, I don't want to sound too optimistic but I really believe that we will be seeing another comeback next year!

According to Eurovisionfun, Greece's participation fee is 33,000€ lower than last year's fee!
I know that Montenegro is back and that each participating country technically could decrease the cost for all broadcasters involved but how's it possible that the participation of Montenegro reduces the costs for a single country like Greece that much?!
Also, Switzerland is quite expensive in general... there must be something else... maybe a broadcaster who's financially more stable/lucrative decided to join?
Or did the EBU increase the costs for the Big 5 massively?

Some people say that ebu doesn't publish the participation list due to Israel's broadcaster. I have a feeling (or a hope), that the real reason is that ebu is negotiating with a country for a possible return.

Almost mid December and still no news.

Ironically, the last time we had to wait for so long was back in 2015 - exactly a decade ago when we had to wait for the participants in Vienna.

That year, we saw Czechia coming back as well as Australia getting announced as an "one-off".
Serbia and Czechia also came back...

Thinking about it, I truly believe that something must be in the works behind the scenes. The EBU must be working on something huge like back in 2015, e.g. bringing 2-3 countries back or thinking out of the box again (apart from Australia.... could they invite another country?! or even convince other participants to let the Faroe Islands compete?!).

Greece's participation costs got reduced - we see a rise of national finals (more than in recent years). Maybe broadcasters can use the additional money to hold NFs?
They voted someone new from Monaco TV as part of the chair group of the EBU...

I just hope the EBU will give us some sort of New Year's present and announce the participating list on 31st Dec.

16th of December will probably be the big day. Ebu will reveal the logo and other stuff, so I believe that we will also see the participation list.

At this point i fully expect Monaco to come back and i'll be disappointed if they don't

What do you mean??

When Luxembourg's return was announced so early in Liverpool, i thought that it was too soon for this kind of news and maybe it would've been better to wait a bit longer and then BAM! - News that would send shockwaves in the eurovision fandom.

Given that we waited longer than usual for 2025 list, i thought there was some shock surprise and Monaco made the most sense since they have the money, plus participation fee went down since Montenegro could afford it.

The picture is just a dumb meme to spice things up.
