Tbh, Vernicos wasnt a diaspora singer, he grew up and lives in Greece.
If I have learnt something all these years Im watching ESC is that the entries that do great at the contest are the ones with strong identities, nothing to do with where the artists live.
Amanda's Die together had an identity as an entry, Victor's had absolutely none. Im really happy with Satti because I know her song will have a strong identity, some people will love it some not but it wont be a beige pop track for sure, its gonna have flavor :xo:, something that has been missing from the greek entries lately.
Victor wasn't diaspora no but he wasn't an artist, he was barely out of nursery

I can't say that I'm actually excited cause I haven't liked a single song I've heard from her. I also don't like the fact that they have no song and expect from someone else to bring one within a month (allegedly?). The singer is basically held at a gun point to pick something even if they don't 100% feel it, which makes the entry way less authentic imo. With all that being said, I don't find her a bad choice and I believe she can bring both a decent result and give the fans an entry they will like.

Would be incredibly funny if they made her sing Liar from last years mess

I think Cyprus is planning to lay claim to that song so she might avoid it.

People are wanting and expecting flavour, but watch her rock up in Malmo with some random fresh from a song writing camp song in English. xheart

First of all, I LOVE MARINA SATTI!!

BUT

I 100% agree. What type of decision is that? And this is Marina Satti, who apparently has been working on music for the past months or so...also released an album of all original songs last year...just pick an unreleased song you've made and go with that...what is the point of selecting an artist like Marina Satti which the whole point of her allure is the distinctive blend she does of pure balkan/greek/sudanese folk with a modern production and then basically asking for some rando to submit a song for her.

It's like even when these fools make a good selection they somehow find a way to handicap it.

She said she has a few songs of her own, that she has not realeased, so i wouldn't worry (at least, not yet). She said that ERT decided to make an open call to every songwritter interested in case something better comes up, an argument i find fair enough. I'm keeping my faith in her, as she said that her song will be 100% her style.

BTW, a small tribute to the younger Marina.

She was also so cute as the Greek "Vaiana" and "the little mermaid".

Why he isn't a artist? I don't understand your commentary, for me,his song wasn't bad,i kinda liked but i have a very open mind and i listen and like many type of songs. I liked the majority of songs of eurovision 2023 too.

Curious to see what she'll give us

Hope she'll sing in Greek !

I'm sure she will. You know what would be more epic? to include a small part in Arabic language, so that she embraces her Sudanese heritage. xheart Needless to say that i'm expecting Greek and Arabic sounds in her entry.

Victor is a nepo baby who didn't have even a fraction of the talent that someone going to represent their country at eurovision should have

I respect your opinion, because people think different, nobody thinks the same, but i don't agree with you,i don't care about his age,i don't care about other facts other than the song,if he is talented i don't know, but i liked the song and i can't change that,if you like the song, you like,if you don't then you don't,and as i said i have a very open mind and like many type of songs,i think this is why i liked the majority of songs of eurovision 2023,i didn't loved the song but i liked,i would listen to it on spotify without problems.

Erm, I didn't like his song at all but I think that is a bit rude

Ultimately he was only 16, wrote, composed and produced that song alone and I think that's pretty impressive for a 16 yo, I don't really blame him for the flop Greece had last ESC, I think the broadcaster is the main responsible for that, Victor was simply a kid that wasn't ready to be sent yet

This must be the case, as these two girls are completely different.
Haven’t followed their musical journey so far, so on the surface they‘re pretty interchangeable (look, attitude,..) But I‘m curious what they will prestent us as songs.
