you seem to think that i said ONLY diaspora brings greece to the final or that the televote consists only of diaspora. that is not the case. but it's a decisive factor for the fact that greece has up to now never failed to qualify.

Even with the juries' results in semis only, :gr: would have still made it to the final.

They even placed the dreadful "Aphrodisiac" 3rd in their ranking in 2012 :? :?. So, you can blame the juries for our qualifications, i am with you in some cases

i blame nobody for a qualification. you can cite example after example but if you look at the bigger picture you cannot deny the key argument i've braught up: there are countries who have bigger chances to qualify even with songs that other countries wouldn't have a chance. and this is due to an important extent to the diaspora. this is even understandable from the point of the diaspora. but it's frustrating for countries that can not rely on this automatic support.

"Aphrodisiac" xheart Second best Greek entry of the 10s, after "One last breath".

I just pointed out the qualification thing, cause you brought it into the conversation. "Greece qualifies thanks to the diaspora votes"

I proved to you that even if EBU had abolished televoting, and had left only juries to vote in semifinals, :gr: would have still been in the final.

Case closed.

"Aphrodisiac" xheart Second best Greek entry of the 10s, after "One last breath".

oh God xrofl2

That crap should have never qualified.

That doesn't make too much sense because diaspora has a power in a few countries.
Which is enough to qualify and in certain years also to make the top 10. Serbia last year relied compeltely on this and a few high point from soe countries was enough for that.

There are no Bosnians in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Russia, Hungary, Iceland, Malta, San Marino etc etc. Or there are only few there so they cannot create any impact.
Which is why I highly doubt Bosnia will recieve a lot of points from tose countries, while the others will give it their points.
let's not forget that the only time Bosnia didn't rely on the dispora alone since the semis were in 2006, 2009 and 2011. The others got more or less all points from the the balkans and countries tat have a lot of bosnians living there.

You overestimate the power of diaspora specially in this era with the jury beside televote.
The song is basically Macedonia 2013 with Esma being replaced by the rapper from Macedonia 2010. We've seen how both completely failed with the televoters and I'm poisitve that if this was representing Macedonia it not only would finish in the bottom 3 of the semi, but also no one would even say that this would qualify.

The same goes for Greece: Greeks live in some countries and they will vote, but in most of these not really.
And that's going to be the reason why this will qualify. Getting top marks from some countries will make sure it will be higher than the countries that most of the time only get scraps from other countries. That and the juries were very forgiving to Greece in the semi finals recently, despite the overall poor song qualify and horrible vocals, like in 2014...

Since Romania is out ..... I feel either Bosnia or Greece will fail from the first semi final ..... It would be a DESERVED flop for both.

I'm predicting the same. Maybe they'll be able to pull of something amazing on stage but I'm not holding my breath. I actually think Bosnia has a better chance of qualifying than Greece.

However, I can see this qualifying easily and I also can see already many spoiled eurofans having tantrums in the forum blaming the diaspora voting and a lot of bullshit more...

Greece in the 2000's kinda awesome and getting better year by year ...... Greece in the 2010's mostly horrible and always a qualifier.

After what has happened with Romania I honestly am surprised how Greece, being the country that is notoriously deep in debts, can afford to take part in the ESC.

Sammy Probably sponsorships. ESCada So Azerbaijan that always gets good placing, is because they have amazing songs? Mass approval doesn't always mean good quality. Moreover, it is obvious that the bad results for Greece lately are mostly a matter of all their financial troubles and the bad reputation due to racism.

Azerbaijan has done drastically worse in the years when their songs weren't as good ...... 2014 that Dilara song, finished very low ..... Last year they barely qualified (I loved the song, hated it live).

Tho I have to agree, the worst winner in the last 15 years ....... "Running Scared"

What? First of all we have debts to banks and IMF and not to EBU, so that's why we take part every year, and apart of that ERT earns a lot of money from advertisments and sponsorships...

Well, a TV channel (especially state owned) is certainly not completely independent from the general economic situation, isn't it?
