1. He hasn't been asked yet from ERT to go to ESC this year (good news xcheer)

2. If he ever goes to ESC he would go only with a greek song.

3. He does not want to go to ESC this year in order not to be a possible opponent to Helena Paparizou (he was humorous of course about this one!)

We can now officially confirm that the European Broadcasting Union accepts the current interim national broadcaster of Greece, HPRT (Hellenic Public Radio Television) also known as DT, as the Greek national broadcaster eligible to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest.

The tele-conference of NERIT’s President George Prokopakis and ERT Asset Manager with the EBU ended in an agreement and in a few days EBU and DT will reach an official agreement. EBU originally reacted negatively to the invasion of the police at the former ERT premises with EBU’s president Mr Philippot saying that the European Broadcasting Union will not allow DT as active member.

Within the agreement it was decided that DT will not pay for an EBU fee (350,000) for the previous months allowing the interim national broadcaster to find the necessary funds to become an active member of the EBU and also to participate in Eurovision 2014.

I'd like to see Kostas Martakis on the ESC stage singing a Greek song. Greek is a beautiful language and there is no need to replace it with English IMHO.

I want Kostas too, and completely agree that Greek is one of the most melodic languages and its a pity that we don't hear it much more on ESC. Russian, Italian and Greek are the most beautiful european languages for me

Mad tv is ready. The national final will have 4 or 5 artists from Platinum & Panic Records (like last year).
Two of them are rumored to be:Κostas Martakis & Kristalia.

Hasn't Martakis denied it?

Yay! Kostas = The guy with the fixed lips xcheer

He is pretty much rumored every year, can he even sing live or is he just a pretty face? (sorta like Sakis)... Though, I must say he IS good looking (although a bit too plastic and fixed for my taste).

Kostas:

Kostas xlove

If he gets selected, I'd definitely go to Copenhagen!!!

He also has a very sweet voice. Maybe his voice is not really exceptional, but it's enough for the type of song he's likely to sing and he can manage decently live. Kostas is not a Sakis :)

Yes and no. No one can say anything yet since the broadcaster situation has been so up in the air. So when they ask the singers, of course they have to say no. Even if they are in semi-official talks with their labels. The rumors of Martakis have been very prominent this year though. I think if he sticks with the style of his last singles, he will have a chance.
