Re: GREECE 2012

Russia isn't in top 10 since 2009.. Europe thought the countries were in top ten with diaspora voting are:

Russia
Serbia
Turkey
Ukraine
Armenia
Azerbaijan
Greece

So it's Greece's turn to show europe they were not in top ten with diaspora. And next year it will be Azerbaijan's turn.

You foget Bosnia & Hezegovina.. :p

Gosh. No country needs to fail just because it sends appealing songs multiple times in a row.

Re: GREECE 2012

Last year Greece got points mostly from countries that no big amount of Greek diaspora exists, and countries that usually don't give Greece any points. It just worthy to be in number 7 because it sent a song that stood out as different.

Last year's Greece song was silly

Quite certainly not. At least not in mine opinion.

I actually agree but how do you from which countries it received the points? Anyway, Europeans and bordering Asians gave it a well-deserved 3rd (not 7th) place and that is something to be proud of. ;) I would love to see Greece keep on going this track! No silly American stuff which is sent by 95% of the other countries.

I love her "Remembering the summer nights" amazing song :) Her the best!:)

Haven't listened to it yet but this song won the forum contest (FSC), right? It is not available in Germany, unfortunately. :(

Re: GREECE 2012

I'm waiting for Nikki Ponte in greek preselection for ESC: P

I don't think we will see her this year for two reasons. If she had intentions, I think they would have saved "Remembering the Summer Nights" since it is a Eurovision style song. But the biggest reason I don't think we will see her, is because I think that Sony Music Greece (her label) is putting all their support and efforts behind Ivi Adamou for Cyprus this year. I could be wrong though, but it would explain the rumors that say Sony was not interested when contacted by ERT.

This is my personal wild speculation now, but has anyone thought about maybe Eleftheria Eleftheriou as a candidate? The rumor was that Universal Music Greece was very interested this year, and Eleftheria recently moved there. She said she left Sony because Universal made a very good proposal to her. Eurovision offer possibly?

+1 to what you said. Remembering the Summer Nights would rock Eurovision!!! If Nikki was gonna go in Eurovision, she would save it for that reason! It's a 100% Eurovision song! I won FSC with this song!!

+ It would not be a good idea for Greece and Cyprus to send two girls from the same music style, like Ivi and Nikki. I'm not sure about Eleftheria, though. She's a nice singer, but I don't think she's a good performer, and her English accent is not the best. She improved from 2010, as you can hear in this song, but still if she goes, she has to sing in Greek better.
But again, her style is similar to Ivi, they are both Cypriots, and this wouldn't be good for any of them. I prefer a band for Greece this year, like Melisses or Kokkina Halia.

Why Greece is not considering Greek artists, and wants to send a Cypriot every year (Anna Vissi, Sarbel, Loucas Yiorkas, Nikki Ponte, Eleftheria Eleftheriou, Valando Tryfonos, Triimitonio...)?

Yes, I agree with you CypriotGirl. Greece should send to the contest Greek artists and not Cypriots. Greece has many talented singers that are Greek born. That's why I want Kostas Martakis or Kalomira again for this year!

 Kalomira is born in the US so I don't see how she qualifies as being "Greek born" and more Greek than Cypriots. There's some illogical reasoning in your comment.

Now when Croatia choose Nina Badric, Greece would choose Kostas, and this will be my favourite ESC ever :D

Kalomira come baaaaaaaaaaaackk !! maybe with the song 'Regret combination' and the lyrics are:

I regret combination
of being second time here
I used my imagination
But what if I fail ?

I regret combination
Boy why did I do it second time hard?
What if this time I fail
What's waiting me? Heart attack ?
