After I heard ESC Kompakt Live they mostly praised Ryk and Isaak, also Leona. So it will be hard to see how the Juries and the audience will vote on Friday.

Ryk 56% in the odds now.

I'm quite happy they all said that Ryk is one of the favorites to win. Alongside Isaak and Max, maybe Leona. That would mean Bodine lost a bit of momentum (for now). If Maries vocals are really so weak, juries will tank her, and she won't have a shot at winning IMO. Probably not NinetyNine, Floryan or Galant.

Honestly this NF would be very improved if Max would just decide to withdraw :censored: Naiv is a better closing number, and it means losing the weakest ballad - of which we have enough.

I don’t see any scenario where Ryk is not taking this. I heard him live and he’s good. The song itself is not outstanding, but it can surprise us and get Germany back to he top 10.

Ryk's Video is coming after the NF. Has nothing to so with NDR, is his own fault, he says.

After hearing ESC Kompakt live, I think Ryk, Max, Leona, Isaak and Bodine are among the Jury favorites. I can't imagine that Marie Reim will be in the top 4 or 5 since she was vocally really bad. So she will probably be out despite the possible televoting victory. But then the big unknown remains: televoting. It's difficult to assess it. I see Max and Isaak at the front. So Isaak could also emerge as the winner. It's definitely going to be a tight squeeze on Friday.

Btw happy to hear that many artists are (at least) vocally good this year!

I honestly believe that ESCKompakt is simply hyping their own favourite artist and this year it's clearly Ryk.
It's fine they got a favourite since they are simply bloggers and fans but it's frustrating to read that they believe that all the other performances are not "ESC-ready".

Also, from what I've seen and read, I'm not convinced by his performance at all.
He will clearly shine due to his vocals but he's basically just standing in front of Windows Media Player visuals.
What's so impressive or unique about it? - I will wait and judge the performance, of course - who knows.. maybe it will look spectacular on TV but it looks kinda dull and bland on the pictures and thus, I don't get the praise for it.

Max' pictures look even worse. No props, everything painted in red and even the song titles as the backdrop. That's super lazy.

Marie's outfit looks ridiculous, imo. It's not even sexy or pretty imo. You can see her underwear shining through and NDR and staircases... that's a story I want to forget.

The "only" performance which really got my attention:
- Isaak (I just hope he will change his outfit. A hoodie on stage is a no go!),
- Galant (the props look fantastic and cool but I'm not optimistic... Lord of The Lost's performance was very static on TV as well despite looking amazing on pics)
- Bodine (granted, the pictures on ESCKompakt looked ridiculous - I mean, it's basically just plants and you can't see the upper parts of her body.. but the ones on Eurovision Song Contest Deutschland look amazing! - I think it will look great on TV to create such a botanical, vivid and green staging for that song).

But apart from Bodine and Galant, it looks like NDR will heavily rely on backdrops and lighting.
Personally, I prefer props, dancers, backround singers on stage....but we'll see.

You can put me on that team as well. :D

We really don't need ESC 2017 big ass face projections in 2024. Hopefully the rest of the performance looks great. I heard she was very strong vocally at rehearsals yesterday.

I absolutely love Bodine's outfit/style.
Honestly, I think I'm getting very curious about her performance.

Again, Barbara Pravi came 2nd by standing in one spot in complete darkness. It's the camera angles that matter the most to make it look exciting

I read your comment on the previous page - Stll, we haven't seen the camera angles yet - I was commenting on the pics.

That's totally fine - it might look good on TV but the photos look uninspiring and boring - especially the Windows Media Player visuals (I actually at to laugh when I saw them) and that's why I don't get the very positive feecback.

I was hoping for him to bring the strings on stage (I think it looked quite well in the live video snippet NDR already posted).

So apparently, Marie's rehearsal today included the camera going over to a longer shot in the audience, with a chair with a "Michelle" note. So I guess we'll get to see her Mama during her performance. That's just cheap and makes her look like the worst kind of nepo baby IMO. Meanwhile, she messed up the high note completely.

She'd be better of focusing that PR energy on singing lessons. And some dancing lessons too, tbh.

OTOH I'm happy that Bodines rehearsals were better today! And her smile is so lovely xheart

Michelle is her mother. She took part in Eurovision 2001.
Other participants' family members will also be part of the audience.
Malik's dad had been shown on TV for quite a few seconds throughout his performance as well.
I don't think it will increase the chances for her to win or do her any favor... it's just the way it is.
If you got one of the most successful female Schlager artists in the audience and she's the mother of one of the candidates... you'll show her on screen.

That said, I think it would be more suitable to show her reaction AFTER the performance.
@Jupiter ESCKompakt also wrote that the third performance of Marie's rehearsal didn't include shots of her mother during the performance... so hopefully, NDR+Marie's team realised that it wasn't a good idea in the first place.

Issak is definitely a dark horse here. His voice must be stunning live. I could live with him representing us, also Bodine would be okay for me!

I have the feeling that Germany is going to do well this year. Very well I feel.
I mean if Oh boy wins.
Seems that this year's weakest big 5 country will be Spain, obviously deserved

I'd be fine with showing Michelle after the performance, but during it gives me "cheap gimmick" vibes.
It's also the overall picture of Marie just not being good in terms of singing or performance, but having the most PR overall of all entries (she has the most TV appearances and everything too). That just really gives nepo baby in the worst way. I wouldn't hold that against artists per se - look at Angelina Mango for example. She sang a song of her famous dad and that 100% gave her plus points. But she's also a great singer, a really great performer, and has a cool song. So so be it. But when it just really feels like the famous parents are the only selling point, then I really don't like it. To be frank, I doubt Marie would be in this VE without her parents, bcs she wouldn't have a career without them.

So yeah, I hope it's as you say, and that camera cut to Michelle just doesn't happen. As for the outfit: I'd love it if she wore a short Red dress under it or something completely nude. Because the dress itself is fine IMO. But the visible underwear... it really just looks cheap and tacky "xD
