Anica Russo - Once Upon a Dream = 9/10
Will Church - Hold On = 8/10
Lord Of The Lost - Blood & Glitter = 7/10 (I was leaning towards a 6 but I'll be kind for now)
Patty Gurdy - Melodies of Hope = 5/10
René Miller - Concrete Heart = 5/10
Ikke Hüftgold - Lied mit gutem Text = 4/10
Lonely Spring - Misfit = 4/10
Trong - Dare to Be Different = 2/10
Frida Gold was missed tonight
The selection was rough without her.
I really like Anica's song but attention needs to be payed to the staging if it wins (the idea is there but the execution needs polish), and unfortunately I wasn't wowed like the first time I experienced the studio version. I don't believe in guilty pleasures but I'm blushing right now at having placed Will Church 2nd here so I guess I've got one. He'd be the most German choice and his result could be anything from bottom 5 to sneaking into the top 10 if the jury take a fancy to him. It's hard to say. Blood and Glitter is fine but this is the year of the bands and wild entries. They'd need a stronger song to stand out at Eurovision. The rest for me are a nein I'm afraid.
