changed my 6 to 7 already. the chorus is pretty well constructed.

to paraphrase lisa simpson: symphonix, even though you've enslaved half of eurovision, you're still a damn fine composing engine.

THE GOOD:
-I like how groovy this can get.
-It's memorable.

THE BAD:
-It just doesn't do anything for me.

THE MEH:
-I go back and forth with Ben's vocals. I like them in some parts, and I don't in other parts.

THE VERDICT:
What it boils down to is that, for me, this is a good, but not great, song. The staging has to really impress me if Ben (and Germany) is to stand a chance of a better position in the tally. In the meantime, it's a good song, but only just that. 7 points

Eventhough I am not a big fan of the song itself, at least it is competitive. Possible top 10 with a good staging and vocals.

I can't believe Germany is here to save us. After last evening's disastrous NF with ballad after ballad, if the other 17 countries (bar Israel and Romania who we know they are going to send great songs unless they picked the worst one) are not delivering, I am going to support Germany to win the competition.

My first reaction to this song is wow what a weird voice. I know they said male is rep Dland but all I hear is either a child or a woman's voice. Maybe his voice hasn't mutated still. The first 30 sec got me intruiged, then it got me bored. It's the stuff u hear every year on German speaking Radios or melfest. And he reminds me a lot of ingrosso with that falsetto. I thought I was the only one who noticed these things. It seems it is a general consensus. Sorry Dland besser Glück nächstes Mal. I hope Dland won't be last this time.

I enjoy this more and more. I love the bridge and his "violent thing" and "don't tell your mama" are really addictive.

Very true what you said about German radios, they love this kind of music.. I only have a comparison of Polish, Czech and Dutch radios but I feel like they play different stuff there. I worry that this is a little dated and won't be enjoyed that much outside of Germany. Slovenia ensures some good points though

It's certainly not very innovative or original but what makes you think this is dated? I feel people like Alec Benjamin or Lauv doing very well currently with this kind of music. My main criticism would rather be that this whole thing is too mainstreamy right now and not unique enough but I guess his special voice could help with that.

"Dated" would be the last word to associate this song with. It's definitely very current and contemporary. Dated = see France/Moldova/Estonia entries

Yeah this does borrow from stuff that was in vogue a couple years back, but that doesn't constitute being dated. I think people mean it's all a bit Daft Punk 2013/2014-ish and if that is the core of the argument there's truth to that. Calling that dated however is a bit of a stretch.
