Actually, I do care. The German strategy this year: We are so incredibly tired of everybody hating our entries and getting last places. This time we send something so deeply buried in uncreative mainstream everyday pop music that they HAVE to give us points.
I am not a fan of that. Maybe it sometimes takes several years to discover gems like Lena's "Satellite" or Michael Schulte's "You Let Me Walk Alone", I am fine with that.

Yeah I don't get it. Like, not at all. When I'm in my car and I want easy listening I usually listen to 1Live, the main radio station in NRW. Seems like Germany has a perfectly viable national music scene with quite some talent. Production is often a bit dated and simplistic in German songs, but there is no reason why Germany shouldn't be able to produce a good song each year.

@Gera11 and @randajad: Hi there! at level 12! I was listening to the song the whole morning. Well, from 7 to 8, from 8 to 10, and finally from 10 to 12. Hooray! It caught me so much within two days! At the beginning I had problems with his voice, but in the meanwhile I truly find it very unique. Cheers!

That was the same for me too. I actually never thought that this song would reach Sisters-level (I was one of the few who loved the song), but now after two days of listening, I really love it!

+ It's the best German entry for years

Not best for me, I feel nothing for it.

I prefer Levina with "Perfect Life" from 2017.

This is surprisingly quite cool in studio form, I liked it a lot and it's a big improvement on last years' nasty thing Germany gave us Not sure how it will look like on stage.

Oh gosh, the more I listen to this song, however, I wanna upgrade it.
The lyrics aren't deep or anything but the song is so groovy and I think that Ben's high voice is perfect for it.
Finally an entry I can keep my fingers crossed for a good result for y Germany!

My ranking went like this:

Lol the usual German schizophrenia. Germany hold the record for most first AND last places on my yearly rankings The only thing they're consistent at is inconsistency

Ben would clock in at #4 in that list. I personally don't think much of "Violent thing". I still cannot remember what it sounds like from memory. But w/e it's a good attempt featuring a modern-ish Symphonix song and that's the best I could've hoped for, I guess.

I wasn't crazy into Glorious at the time, but I don't know what happened. I feel like I might have befriended a crazy Cascada super fan at one point who owns a special mind control gun. All hail supreme goddess Natalie Cascada Horler. I find her quite fab today. Taken By A Stranger is cool. Is It Right is messy (got big vocal problems with that one today) but it's one of the few German entries I supported. Satellite I loved but it has aged so very terribly. Was unsure even if it deserved to be kept in my green positive zone. Standing Still and You Let Me Walk Alone are my kryptonite. I passionately loathe both so much.

Can't say it exactly regarding the first 6 (it changes), but I don't like the songs 7-10 at all.
