I'm slowly curing from that mess caused by Germany, but still I would to see the televote results. Just to see if germans were really so deaf that they elected the worst song of the bunch..
See, I‘m wondering about this almost every NF. „The worst“ to you but are you really the classic one-night-audience? The one, who watches the songs on stage for the very first time on May 18th? No. A lot of people still do. I‘m sure a lot of the German NF voters are the ones who don’t bother about pre-Eurovision but tune in again in May only. We „hardcore Eurovision fans“ have just a completely different style of music taste. We want the special, the never heard before, brilliant staging, cultural influences at best, we want the whole package. The extraordinary.
Most other people don’t want. It‘s not that they want mainstream only. They want the icing on the cake. That special moment that makes the song different from others but it must be easy to get, either visually or musically. Something to remember easily.
Sisters weren’t my favourites either but to me it‘s the only reasonable choice. I hope they keep the turning stage because it‘s something that will be stuck in people‘s head. Also, the constant repeating of „sister“ will help.
Although I liked Lilly and Aly better musicwise I remembered more of „Sister“ after listening to all three for the first time. Sister is much more easy to sing along.
I had the same with Michael last year. Michael was really not my cup of tea but it was the only song I remembered after all the performances.
