Okay, that's pretty cool. It will have trouble qualifying as the style is pretty out there, but it's basically just a power ballad with an industrial backing track and the vocalist is used to singing heavy rock or metal. As such, it's not great but certainly not bad. This will just sit in the upper ranges of the lower half of my ranking I guess. I like it a lot for the variety it brings.

I’m torn. I wasn’t sold on it until the last chorus, and I think I want to like this more than I actually do. It’s great that Georgia is continuing to send risks despite their iffy track record though!

The arrangement, his voice and the vocal effects are incredible.
The lyrics are a bit off-putting, though.
Is he really shading?
He could have come up with other examples but since the big countries are indeed big and well-known... Their stereotypes are way more popular and easy to understand.

"You want me to talk like a Macedonian, dress like a Polish, smell like an Armenian, play like an Icelandic" wouldn't have been universally been understood.

That's why the lyrics are so off-putting to me. They came up with the easiest comparisons instead of adding true emotions or a story to the song.

Arrangement, voice, song itself is like a :10: for me but the lyrics are more like a :2:

I love the 90's alternative rock atmosphere.. but lyrics are crap. Still a good song, though. He almost gets in my top 10.

It's nice to have this at the festival.

Goodness me, WHAT a song xheat xheat @lavieenrose sent it over so I could enjoy it as an alarm clock :p Fantastic, clearcut message and his voice is quite the thing. I love the style, but feel it'll need a few listens to truly get into it.

Not wanting to dance anymore, but I must dance
That's why the lyrics are so off-putting to me. They came up with the easiest comparisons instead of adding true emotions or a story to the song.

There is a story though; they might be seen as low-hanging fruit, but at the end of the day, they're considered the standard: people want to be stylish like Italians, use the newsreader/"posh" accent of the English, have the natural rhythm of the Spanish, etc. You don't have millions of people considering Georgians any of that, so then, Tornike decides to eschew that and just be the Georgian man he is, even if he isn't stylish or well-spoken and instead he feels that if he's going out, he's going out as authentic to himself as possible.

Yeah, this is what I was after, this is a true reflection of Tornike as an artist, production sounds excellent, the little vocal spins and twists keep things interesting throughout what is a pretty static melody (THE GROWL xheart) and @BarefootBoogaloo already encapsulated my thoughts on the lyrics thanks gurl!

I'm completely forgetting about qualification, though, even in the easier second semi. Sonically the closest thing to this is The Real Thing by Highway, which I personally thought was a great song with great staging but it died an immediate death. It would be a surprise bonus, but nevertheless this is a standout for me.

Excuse me, but how is possible people find lyrics cringe or bad? Read between the lines: he is basically saying, indirectly "I can love you only as a Georgian, don't put me in a box of expected standards". Nationalism done nicely. :D

Anyway, I like this. Georgia being Georgia, they play risky every year and I like that approach.

Bloomin' marvellous! Plus, we all know Georgians can nail harmonies so this will be epic on stage!

My first direct :12: of the year (the others were after some reflection) and :ge: is the only country to be in my Top 10 three years in a row (including no1 in 2018).

I am still just xbowxbowxbowWill Italy forgive me for being downgarded to No. 2? The Georgian entry was all I was looking for. I am over the moon. Intelligent rock, and I actually love the lyrics. And the chorus! xheat While people hype Russia, I am hyped by Georgia. THAT'sS music!

First of all, I love him.
As for the song xheat . It low key reminds me of Arctic Monkeys, such a sexy rhythm. 10 pts

I could live without the french, german, italian, spanish "i love you" parts of the backing vocalists.
