Re: GEORGIA 2016 - Nika Kocharov & Young Georgian Lolitas
Going to try and rank the songs. I've already ripped those youtube performances onto my laptop
1. Pain In My Heart - This one is cool as FUUUU.. .. c .. errr w
ords we cannot say herexshifty Scuzzy, sexy piece of rock and an absolute eargasm. The Ooooo's are so darn colossal. This would be my favourite Eurovision song since "Maybe". I'm dizzy from it. It's that good!
2. We Agree - Beautiful track that's something very different to the others on offer here. Gorgeous, calming ballad full of sincerity. Getting major The War On Drugs vibes from this one which is probably why i'm loving it so much. Nearly made me shed a tear during the climax. "Everyone is looking at me. Come on, just let me be... on my own". Stunning. I would more than worry about this one at Eurovision. The song would be a style of ballad we've never had before and it would break my heart to see such a special piece of music not make the final. I can see myself getting terribly attached to it.
3. Sugar and Milk - "Oh yeeeaaah sugar and milk, I need honey... toast and honeeey" What a scorching hot groove this one has. That fuzzy guitar solo at the end.. kill me now! I think this is the one to be honest. They could sell this at Eurovision. It's got the spunk. Really exciting stuff.
4. Right or Wrong - Glorious track. Has me swaying from the get go. This is the poppiest song on offer but I still love it. An infectious glittery pop-rock bop. Puts a big smile on my face. That crazy guitar screeching at the end as well
5. Midnight Gold - Hot track. This one rocks the hardest of the five. It's the loudest certainly and perhaps that would make it the hardest sell at Eurovision. I adore the distortion we hear about half way into the song, and wait... what's that? Do I even hear a..... cowbell!?!? lavieenrose
I don't think this one has a strong enough hook though for Eurovision. It's cool but hasn't chances to win over people who aren't into this kind of music anyway. I can see this one going up my own personal ranking of the songs once i've listened to it more, but on first listen it doesn't leave as strong as an impression as the other four songs. That's certainly saying something though as it's still hot sauce.
Basically pick whatever you want Georgia. You've got me 100% on board. The most honest, raw rock music we've ever had at Eurovision. Gonna be in love with the Georgian entry. In my opinion Young Georgian Lolitaz just slayed the whole of last years contest, with the exception of maybe "Love Injected". Major quality overload here. Music i'd listen to outside of Eurovision actually coming to Eurovision! Well i'll be damned.
