Personally I love classic Italian songs in San Remo style. Probably that is why I like this. :D

The song reminds me a bit of: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XB4a66X2QVE
That song is from 1972 but still sounds fresher than Dona. :(

I agree with Gre, the reason for the dated sound is the poor production. And tbh that was NID with Grill, he is simply a poor producer in my eyes and has always been.

All in all, I don't think Europe will like the dated sound, especially not West.
So unless some unexpected epic screams at the end she will unfortunately struggle to qualify. :(

Yes, we don't have any ballads pretty much (not counting that generic song from Moldova), so this would benefit in that second semi. Imagine if it's placed between Ireland and Belarus.

Well, about that..........

I´m not a fan of his entry either, but I do think that the guy is flawless in the vocal department. Sure, his halloween-like stage show might be off-putting, but when I heard that his live singing is, like, totally identical to the studio version, I had to give him some sort of props. It is not gonna make me like his entry by any contrast more, but yeah.....vocal recognition is deserved.
The guy has a solid vocal, it is just he cannot perform his song and sell it. It's like he sings it for an audience in one of those hipsterish bars where they do small scale gigs. xshrug

I changed my mind about this, after a few listens this gets so much better. It probably enters my top 10 soon.

Much more depth than Crno i belo. Jurys will love it. Last time place 13? This time top ten very likely. Go Kaliope! xclap

You picked an artist I still seriously follow. I'm 26, but I know LOADS of Claudio's songs. Noi No as my favourite.

THE GOOD:

-Her vocals do just enough to stand out from the instrumentals.
-The chorus is memorable, if a bit repetitive.

THE BAD:

-It needed something else to perhaps make it stand out even more.
-The language might or might not be a problem for this song (more on that in my verdict).

THE VERDICT:

Overall, I liken this song to Shania Twain's "From This Moment On", and I like the song for that reason. Also, I just checked the second semifinal round and this song is the only song in the round that is not in English (Ukraine's song is partially sung in English), which might help it or hinder it. I'm going to say that it'll probably hinder it, due to it not having anything else that makes it stand out. 7 points

Better than "Crno i Belo"

I like this one instantly, though the refrain could've included less Donas and more lyrics.

Did you ever give 8 or 10, not to mention 12? You are so strict, you are like Chinese dictators.. I will imagine you like that from now on  :D

Below is my voting history since 2013 that I gave 8, 10 and 12:

2013 Greece - Alcohol is Free - 8 pts
2013 Azerbaijan - Hold Me - 10 pts
2013 Iceland - Eg a lif - 8 pts
2013 San Marino - Crisalide - 10 pts
2013 Denmark - Only Teardrops - 8pts
2013 Cyprus - An Me Thimase - 8 pts
2013 Bulgaria - Samo Shampioni - 8 pts
2014 Italy - La Mia Citta - 8 pts
2014 Portugal - Quero Ser Tua - 10 pts
2014 Denmark - Cliche Love Song - 8 pts
2015 UK - Still in Love with You - 8 pts
2015 Italy - Grande Amore - 8 pts
2015 Israel - Golden Boy - 8 pts
2015 Lithuania - This Time - 8 pts
2016 Russia - You're the only one - 8 pts
2016 Netherland - Slow Down - 8 pts
2016 Ireland - Sunlight - 8 pts

And also a dozen 7 pts.

So it's not that I'm strict, just you're more strict to some songs and I'm more strict to another.

And, don't imagine me as a Chinese dictator, 1. China is not a dictatorship now, although it's not a (western-style) democratic country. 2. I'm quite critic towards our govt to some extent also.
