FYR MACEDONIA 2012 - Kaliopi - Crno i belo

I love Kaliopi and this song is really good, but the production is terrible. She should kick that - I guess she called him "friend" in the interview - producer down those stairs. Why on earth add guitars in the middle of the song? And why that weak 60ish FUZZ sound? Supposed to be retro? Horrific! Then we get drums - OK, here we go - arrrgh, the drummer picks up a cheap simple dansband beat. Urrk. Crap, it ruins the song for Kaliopi.

I wish she just brings the piano, violinist and the cellist with her to Baku and let us enjoy her magnificent voice. Nothing else is needed for a top 10.

She will apparently sing the last lines in English :shock:. They really put an effort to turn a great song sounding cheap and the studio version will be more or less ruined. Live on stage it will however depend on Kaliopi herself. I really hope she will save the day(s) for Macedonia. She is safe on my top 10 at least.

At times, I felt like the guitar and her voice were competing with each other, instead of meshing to create a better song. This conflict made the song unmemorable for me.
