Kristi, I said 6 groups of 4 teams, not 6 x 3, with the first 2 qualifing among with the TOP 4 3 placers.

yes i was thinking of 6 x 4,ive just made an error.

I think it's easier with 8 groups with 3 teams and 2 of them qualifying to 1/8

In case they have the same amount of points and the same GD than FIFA uses a draw to see who gets the lucky spot....

When they are chosen. Plus, the deadline is yet to pass. I'd prefer a 6 x 4 since I find 3 entries in a group too few.

we will use ESC system as for ties.
It's fair for few entries within 1 group. Not fair for the entries in different groups because you can't compare their marks (they were influenced by different entries).
What if the 3rd place in 1 strong group gains the same amount of points with the 3rd place from the weak group? ESC system or any other system (except re-voting for those 2 only) doesn't help. So breaking ties helps only within 1 group.

That's not too bad, either. Well, if a 25th signs up, we could have 5 x 5. and 3 + 1 qualify, for instance.
