Feels like this will do somewhat the same as Patricia Kaas in 2009, however "Et s'il fallait le faire" was better imo

Way better. Patricia is also one of the best performers out there, even Slimane can't compare with her. She's world class imo.

Ok, first thoughts: Slimane surely has a great voice and and will surely give a great vocal delivery on ESC... that said, the song is really bland in my opinion, even for a ballad. It seems too repetitive, and the only highlights, as I said previously, are the vocals and the melody. Middle of the road entry for me :6:.

Well,it's opinion,I don't think is right making comparisons like this, and I don't know this song so I can't say anything.
You don't know the song because you keep refusing to watch any eurovision but 2023, you are on a eurovision forum, there are going to be frequent references to prior contests and songs so either watch some or stop telling people you don't know what they are referring to

I think he's trolling ... His responses are not how a normal human being would respond.

I feel like that as well, though I struggle to actually identify what French entry is most comparable to this one.
2021 seems like an obvious pick but then again it is quite different, 2023/22/19/18/17/16/15 were different for sure.
I guess the most similar thing is that it is sung, well, in French

Alright, so first off i'm curious, why do they drop their entry on a frigging Wednesday in early November? Is this the earliest any country has released their entry in the modern age? Usually it's just Albania in December and sometimes some other country before the end of the year.

Anyway, good vocals, but not much more. As a pianist i hate the "ding-ding-ding" style of pop piano accompaniement, and this song really begged for an old school orchestral backing. I guess they might revamp it.

The melody is forgettable, it sounds good because of the way he sings it, but it doesn't develop enough and it's all gonna come down to his performance and wether they can obtain any support from the general audience. Probably gonna do top 10 with juries, but another result in the lower half is likely here. Don't see a top 5 being possible, with a song you can't remember after hearing it.

What's wrong with asking a lot of questions? @ailane is simply trying to understand Eurovision and how it works. Everyone is at a different level when it comes to Eurovision. Some are experienced fans who can name every winner from every year. Others, like Ailane, are new and are famiiiar with only the most recent editions of ESC. So, can we please try to be civil toward her?

There is asking a lot of questions and then there is telling people you have no idea what they are talking about constantly when they bring up previous songs/years/contests, Ailane has only watched 2023 and has said several times they have no intention to watch anything before that and that they do not want to search about things they do not know about, this mindset and behaviour adds absolutely nothing of value to a forum.

People with genuine questions and a desire to know and see more are great but its clear Ailane is not willing to actually learn anything

This is the most civil place for eurovision on the entire internet and I really cherish that but if you are not going to watch anything before 2023 dont expect us to be accommodating when you get confused about things that are brought up

Barbara Pravi's and Marija Šerifović's stepbrother reveal to the ESC scene. 😂

Great vocal. Lyrics uninspiring. Melodically not much. Overall nice, but it doesn't stand out. A no-voter. Probably as early in the running order as possible. Last 8 places of the scoreboard.

The more I listen to it, the more I like it though. It's really pleasant, his voice is extraordinary, should be able to get a well enough finish if it is staged properly

I don't like it much. Sounds very generic to me.
Also what's with that dotter plagiarism in the music video? :ROFLMAO:

6 points for the voice, and that's about it.

I cringed when I noticed his outfit in the MV. Surprised it took so long for him to turn into the discoball.

The song has a very pleasant melody. It's quite sweet and melancholic, I like it a lot. Great voice too.

However, I would have enjoyed it more if I had turned the subtitles off. Love ballads work for me only if the have either very simple and cheesy lyrics or very poetic and complex ones. This is somewhere in between, leaning more towards the first.

I hope this presentation was only for the music video and they plan something better for the performance. Not that it is bad, but it will probably pass unnoticed. This trick with the disco ball outfit is quite dated and it was never really impressive to begin with.

It's between 6 and 7 for me. I will give it a :7: for now, cause it is nice to listen to, even if it's nothing new.
